Description
Stark Brewing Company originally started back in 1994 as the Stark Mill Brewery. Stark Mill was the first brewery in the city and was brought to life through the efforts of Brewmaster Peter Telge. Peter is a Manchester native, born and raised here in the Queen City, and has been in charge of the brewery for over 20 years now. In 1999, the brewery underwent a rebranding to keep up with the times and opened back up as Milly's Tavern, named after Peter's favorite German Shepherd, who is honored in our logo. Stark Brewing Company is proud to continue its devoted legacy as being Manchester's only brewpub, bringing fresh beer, delicious food, and great times to the people of New England.

On tap at the brewery, Murky amber brown color with a smallish off white head that shows moderate retention. Earthy piney bitter resin hop aromas with a faint bit of caramel maltiness. Bitter resinous flavor is a bit harsh at times, light grassy and caramel flavors suppurating. Not horrible, but lots of bittering hops in this one.

Bottle from The Lazy dog Deep copper color with a decent white head. Aromas are huge with brown sugar, caramel and pumpkin spices. Light bready malt flavor with the sugar and spice form the aroma. Not the worst pumpkin brew I’ve ever had but still not a style I gravitate toward.

Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Dark orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Strings of lace. Aroma of malt, nutmeg and caramel. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt and pumpkin spices. The finish is sweet with a malt and nutmeg aftertaste. Decent overall.

Growler shared by someone tonight, thanks. Wow thats quite the crystal clear straw color. Light hints of lemon and coriander, watery thin body. I think this cleared too quickly and dropped most of the flavor. Meh!
