Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. Dark brown beer with a thick lasting dark beige head. Very smoked aroma. Smoked meat. Hey itโ€™s smooth in the mouth and pretty good I thought. Iโ€™m not a huge expert in smoked beers as I tend to go to Franconia for the kellerbiers rather than the rauchs. But this I thought was good to excellent. Good aroma and flavours. Often rauchs donโ€™t back up the strong flavour with enough malt to carry the flavour. This does though. Good in mouth. Good condition. Good strong flavours.

Craft Islington. Brucie Boys Birthday Bash. Hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and dry. Light fine carbonation. Dusty earthy noble tasting hops. Dried fruits and bitterness. For an IPA brewed with American hops, this sure tastes like an ESB.

Bottle at The brewery. Needs work. Toffee. Then pnw hops. No finesse. Eek. Hops are fine and I like the bitterness. Diacetyl on the aroma. Hops and mouthfeel and malts are fine but the diacetyl turns me off.

Bottle at home picked up from the brewery. Opaque black dark caramel coloured pour with a big old dark tan head. Aroma is woody, vanilla, choc, some black forest gateau. Flavour is smooth roast, choc, ashy finish. There is also layers of beery fruit and again a little black forest gateau. Flavour is very mellow. Lingering acrid roast. Medium thick body lightish carbonation. Sticks in the mouth for a while. Solid porter.
