Tap @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas. A bit hazy golden appearance with a foamy, white head. Quite tart, lemon funky, somewhat cheesy, effervescent, floral aroma. Puckering sour, funky, earth, rich lemon tangy flavor. Pretty tasty.

2010-2011 bottle - Pours hazy yellow-orange with a small, white, bubbly head. The wild funkiness dominates the aroma. We want the funk! The flavor is full of that good farmhouse, earthy, tart funk. It’s medium bodied with a lasting taste of wild yeast in the dry finish. It works well. I’ve had better lambics, but this is good.

Draught at Moeder Lambic, Fontainas, as Tilquin Lambic Blend
Hazy golden color; small frothy head. The aroma is very cheesy, feety, with wet cellar. Smooth and soft mouthfeel, also because of the low carbonation; semi dry, with lovely lemony and cheesy accent, strong cellar character, cobwebs; medium astringency in the final.
A lovely blend, with a lot of character and freshness!

Draught (thanks K.B.!). Hazy goldeny orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is bitter and sour wooden notes along with some slight earth and yeasty notes. Flavour is bitter and sour wood along with mild tart fruityness as well as some yeast, herbs and mild spices. Very refreshing, and though quite sour, also rather easy to drink.

2023-07-30, corked demi bottle, 2015/2016, bb 17/11/2025, 7+ years old, 8-4-8-4-17=41
Golden colour, hazy. Mellow funk in the aroma. The mouthfeel is mellow, the funkiness is quite strong, the acidity is not much; hints of candied fruits; wonderful.
2022-20-08, corked demi bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels, marked 2010 2011, bb 22/12/2020, 8-4-7-4-15=38
Hazy blond color, with a darker shade; well carbonated, with a quite generous head. The aroma is strong, permeating the room, with very nice notes of cellar, Bretts and cobwebs in the beginning (8); some different kind of acidity follows, sweat, and traces of lemon and puke (7). Lean body, the mouthfeel has some more smoothness than other Gueuzes, it has the high acidity and lemon character of younger Lambics, but with a nice astringency in the end. Good, with moderate character and complexity.

375 ml bottle @ Patricks. Hazy orange body with a big, beautiful lasting off-white head and heavy carbonation. Aroma has lots of fruit, specially grapefruit, hint of lemon and relatively moderate funk/barnyard. Flavor is incredible fresh and fruity, pleasant acidic and again a bit more moderate in the funk department. Medium body, tart aftertaste and all in all brilliant balanced. This beer is for real and all the aroma and flavors are authentic geuze, at the same time this is not on the challenging side and should be a nice place to start for the skeptic sour beer drinker. Dificult to dislike this, I think I could drink this beer all night long wile waiting for next years version and hoping for something a bit more rough edge.
