Description
Hi, we’re Van Moll. We’re crazy about beer, which is why we brew it. In 2013 we opened a brew pub in the heart of Eindhoven – our very own flavour lab where everyone can sample our creations. Best idea ever!

We try to delight daily with exciting new tastes and flavours. We experiment and balance, treading the fine line between bold and brazen, without going over the top. A fixed selection of core beers and a varied range of exceptional specials.

Once you’ve mastered the basics, that’s when the adventure really starts. We mix tradition and knowledge with a dash of confidence and cockiness to brew up the perfect party. And that’s exactly what it is: a party for the palate for all who dare.

Grote batches worden gebrouwen bij Lighttown Brewers, waar van Moll deel van uitmaakt.

Fles 30/41 gedronken bij en met benzai. Diep donkerbruin bier. Schuimkraag is vlug weg. Carmel- / koffie-geur met de bourbon op de achtergond. Licht sprankelend op de tong. Sterke smaak blijft lang hangen in de mond. De licht-bittere eik-smaak komt goed tot z’n recht in de afdronk.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub during Benzai’s 10K release party, August 1st, 2015. Opaque black color, medium sized light brown head. Aroma is malts, coffee, some oak, only lightly bourbon, coffee, espresso and roasted malts quite strongly. Taste malts, again quite some roasted malts, lightly coffee and espresso again, liquorice, dark malts, oak, bitter, malt bitter and lightly a hint of bourbon in the background, though not as strong as I would have liked it to be. Medium body and carbonation. Didn’t exactly turn out the way I had planned, but I’d say it’s a fine first attempt. -- Re-rate August 4th, 2015, Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Opaque black color, full sized light brown head. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, lots of espresso. Taste malts, roasted malts, a nice soft touch of bourbon, espresso, slightly oak, moderate to firmly bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Well, actually gets better by the day, I’d rate it a 4.1-4.2 now. Also tastes a lot better from draught compared to the bottles I’ve tried so far, which kind of sucks since most ratebeerians will probably try it from bottle. Better carbonation as well, virtually no carbo from bottle unfortunately. Oh well, nothing I can do about that apart from giving the advice to leave the bottle untouched for at least a couple more weeks.

33cl Bottle from ons Benzaike. Black colour, firm beige head. Aroma of coffee, light sourness, berries, some vanilla, roasted malts. Flavour is medium sweet, tart coffee, berries, vanilla, liquoroce, roasted malts, caramel, some dark fruits, but all muted by the excessive carbonation. Gets better after a while though.

Tap @ van Moll during Benzai’s 10k party, small sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma has less roast, but a bit of vanilla added, slight oak wood and maybe some extra fruitiness. Soft sweet vanilla notes added. Nice stuff.

Tap @ van Moll during Benzai’s 10k party, medium sample. Dark color, medium brown head. Aroma of lots of roasted barley, bit coffee, touch of blackcurrant and dark chocolat. Bit sweet in taste, slight sourness of dark malts, roasty bitterness. Quite thick and quite enjoyable.
