Description
Hi, we’re Van Moll. We’re crazy about beer, which is why we brew it. In 2013 we opened a brew pub in the heart of Eindhoven – our very own flavour lab where everyone can sample our creations. Best idea ever!

We try to delight daily with exciting new tastes and flavours. We experiment and balance, treading the fine line between bold and brazen, without going over the top. A fixed selection of core beers and a varied range of exceptional specials.

Once you’ve mastered the basics, that’s when the adventure really starts. We mix tradition and knowledge with a dash of confidence and cockiness to brew up the perfect party. And that’s exactly what it is: a party for the palate for all who dare.

Grote batches worden gebrouwen bij Lighttown Brewers, waar van Moll deel van uitmaakt.

Draught @ De Arendsnest. Foam and foam out of the tap. Took 10 minutes to convert it to liquid. Aroma has ash, licorice and some tobacco. Smooth palate is low on CO2. Flavour has licorice root, some ash, salty licorice and coffee. Also some Black IPA -like hoppiness comes through. Worth the wait!

On tap @ Arendsnest (sample size). Black color. Light beige head with reasonable retention and good lacing. Aroma’s: sweet malts, sweet fruit, toffee, with brown sugar, red fruit and drop/licorice retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted, fruity. Medium bodied. Finishes ash and moderate bitter. Interesting, and quite nice.

On tap @ Arendsnest (sample size). Clear (dark) brown color. Off white head. Aroma’s: red fruit, caramel/brown sugar, roasted malts. Retronasal the roast is much more upfront with the fruit & caramel more subdued. Flavor is roasted, lightly sweet, with light fruity sourness. Light bodied, not thin. Finishes slightly dry, lots of roast, ashy almost, lightly bitter. Well done, but not really my style.

750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks to Benzai! Black, thick mocha head. Nose is cocoa with caramel, hops coming through, light toast, bit thin for the style. Bitter metallic taste, cocoa, bitter yeast, mocha, some hops, chocolate,… Bit thin & metallic. Okay but sort of disappointed here, still would be nice to try some of the other beers that these guys make. I have heard great things & apparently the make a lot of flavourful low ABV beers.

Just a solid american pale ale, with nice notes of fresh citra. Good, nothing more.
