Tap at the brewpub. Interesting fruity taste. Maybe bit buttery... Peach nectar aroma, taste is stinky passion fruit maybe. Bit of the house ipa fruitiness. Quite unusual and quite nice.

Tap at Blue Room Kamakura. Lightly crisp, wheaty, touch of butter, but I don't mind that as much as some do. Aroma is grassy with a touch of plastic.

Tap at the JBT festival. Orange amber colour, off white frothy head. Aroma is sweet, and all the usual IIPA things.Taste is nice, some sweetness, caramel, bit of bitterness, brown sugar. Tap at Bay Brewing. Golden coloured. Aroma is floral, pineapple, yeasty. Taste is good, fruity, slight bitterness. Pretty nice.

Pours golden, almost clear, sone white foam on the top, nice lacings. Nose is somewhat light, light resin, light hop marmalade and some persimmons. Taste is medium high hoppy, light sweetish pineapple, orange feel, grassy bitter finish. Medium body with good malty bitterness, overall simple and relatively basic but not bad.

Tap at IBREW Ginza. Poured a crystal clear light golden colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, cardboard, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a light, grainy, watery light hop palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

Yokohama Bay Brewing Piledriver Double IPA 7.5% Looking at reviews online that slagged this beer I almost didn’t order it but then I saw they were from 2016 and more recent reviews on a different site were much better so it looks like after 2 years they’ve started to get this beer right. Cloudy honey gold with a a really fresh citrusy hop bouquet with dank highlights around the edges. Quite full bodied with a slightly slick but smooth mouthfeel. The taste is old skool IPA, dank piney resinous with light citrus. It’s not amazing but it is a solid clean well made Double IPA in the classic bitter piney mold that is worth trying, especially if you like bitter brews/are a hop head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
