Description
Wolf of the Willows is a brewing company established by Scotty and Renae McKinnon who first landed on the Australian brewing scene after releasing their XPA in 2014.
Wolf of the Willows name came from a story about a Roman naturalist who first identified the hop vine. The hop was described as wild and untamed, twining and choking the willows, taking them down like a wolf to the flock. They were named Lupus Salictarius, Latin for Wolf of the Willows.
Since that 2014 we've hand built our own brewery and taproom in Mordialloc, Victoria and are lucky enough to work with some of the most talented and incredible human beings going around.
We have a passion for producing hand crafted, small batch, modern beers that are distinct in quality, flavour and character. From award winning smashable lagers, through to barrel aged stouts, we're here to make the best beer, no short cuts, no compromise.
Our satisfaction comes from taking raw, natural ingredients and turning them into beers that we love to drink. We take pride in the fact that we're still family owned and operated, and brew all our beers.
This all said, if we can simply provide you with a moment of enjoyment from a pint of one of our humble ales, then our job is done.

[11/14] Bottle. Pale amber with a large white head that lasts pretty well. Aroma of passionfruit, lychees, mango skin, lime leaf and biscuit. Light bodied, highish carbonation. Not very sweet, but very fruity - lots of tropical fruit, then unexpectedly zesty citrus takes hold towards a fairly bitter finish that is also fairly dry. Wow. [3.9][11/17] Can - days old apparently, bb 7/18. This is great really fresh but I won't be drinking this batch in December. Can. Switched to a packed on date (12/17). This batch a little oniony. Still following - and mostly liking - this one, but averaging score.
