Snallygaster 2022. Poured a very deep, dark black color with a small brown head. Super big coffee bean, some dark chocolate, like 100% cacao chocolate. Creamy with a little bit of grittiness, which was a nice bit of texture.

First stout of the day and it pours like motor oil. Roast and lots of coffee. Dark chocolate. Black oily pour with no head. Bitter finish with molasses. Some booze and a light tang. Tap at Snally.

Can pour from Beer and Wine Nation. Curiously, no mention of Inu Island Collab on can and ABV is 12%. ??? It's an opaque, inky black with nice viscosity, light sparkle, finger-plus width crackling brown foamy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is balanced mix of roasted coffee, vanilla and coconut. First thing you get in the taste is a blast of strong sweet malt and vanilla with some alcohol astringency, followed by the roasted coffee, cocoa and mild coconut. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation, slight alcohol burn and finish as taste. Overall, the aroma is perfectly balanced while the taste takes you on a bit of a roller coaster ride. A tad over carbonated and alcohol presence detracts. Glad to sample the brewer.

16 oz. can from Orange & Brew, $5. A deep black pour, as expected. Nice tan/brown layer of fine foam at the top. Smell is roasty with a big alcohol note. Taste is a very solid imperial-strength stout. I pick up alcohol on the tongue first off. Roasts are a little lighter in the taste, and still some ale fruitiness. Packs a nice punch for a non barrel-aged beer.

Panda at home, thanks to Dave, 01/10/22. Black with a thin tan cap that dissipates to light spotting. Nose is bitter roast, toasted brown sugars, charr, coconut shavings, cocoa powder. Taste comprises chocolate, hint of red berry fruits, brown sugar melt, spice, coconut milk, nutty. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a spike of alcohol. Not terrible but lacking depth for the ABV ... high on the adjuncts.

Panda at home, thanks to Dave, 01/10/22. Pitch black with a tan cap that dissipates edgewards. Nose is sweet malts, mellow roast, coffee bean, chocolate pot, vanilla, brown sugar melt. Taste comprises coffee bean, light spice, cocoa powder, coconut shavings, toffee, brown sugars, light charr, roasted tone. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Tidy enough pastry ... I wanted more coffee presence though.
