Growlette.
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a muddy golden bronzed/copper color with a slim fingered white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Moderate streamy speckled lace.
The aroma had some sweet mango sharpening into a crisp bittersweet grassy to lemongrassy sweet maltiness. Straight lemon sweet pulpiness.
The flavor leans to the sweet side of the malts. Bitter orange rindy-like hops invade a nice pulpy sweet maltiness. Light blended bittersweet hops to malty aftertaste moving on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonated appropriately, mellow/smooth feel all around.
Overall, mostly feels and tastes like an APA but a sharp bitter aroma of an AIPA, I’d say good for the most part and I would have again.

At The Bench, Stowe, VT, they poured it into a snifter.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head. Dissipates immediately.
The aroma definitely had the rye up front, spicy yet sweet and then some roasted sweet potatoes underscored with a light pumpkin fleshiness to it. Subtle caramel malt base.
The flavor blends all of the previously mentioned aromas bleeding together and grabbing the aftertaste to send it into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation slides in subtly. Malt notes help to smooth out.
Overall, nice strong ale with rye and sweet potatoes. I’d have again.

On tap at The Bench, Stowe, VT.
They poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a cloudy pale yellow color, reminded me of milky yellow color. Bar pour’s kind of head that dissipated into oblivion.
The aroma leans towards a semi-sweet lemon to citrusy pulpiness. Sly citrusy rind bitterness accompanies nicely. Slight grainy sweet wheat. Subtle pine.
The flavor balances nicely between some light sweet wheat playing with the citrusy rind. Subtle dry pine. Crisp sweet blend of the citrus to the pine to the wheat in the aftertaste and finishes the same.
On the palate, this one sat pretty light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation reads correctly for the style and feels good for me.
Overall, pretty good APWA. I’d have again preferably with food or more likely in the Summer.

Tap. Doc Ponds, Stowe, VT. Hazy, pale gold. Nose has lemon rind. Some wheat. Some fruity hop. Taste has some wheat sweetness. Fairly dry. Thin mouthfeel. Watery bitter finish. Not a whole lot going on. A work in progress, maybe.

Growlette from Winooski Beverage.
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a murky yet transparent golden orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than several seconds. One ring of mild spider web lacing. Some trickling lace below.
The aroma starts with some crisp bright mango, light pineapple, and then some grassy hops. Malts are extremely light.
The flavor lends a hand to the bitter side of crisp bright grassy sweet to mango sweetness. Quick semi-smooth bittersweet aftertaste sliding into a quick finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fantastic sessionability about it. Carbonation rides light with a nice burst of bitterness hitting my tongue.
Overall, as a blonde ale, this is going to turn some heads. It’s happier than expected, to me, I don’t mind. But normal blonde ale fans might not be a fan of.
