Sampled at Drop-In. Clear hazy amber color with thin head. Nose is decent amount of floral and citrus hops with caramel.

Flavor is hop forward with caramel and toffee malt backbone. Light to medium in body with the hops being assertive through out the brew. The finish is clean and hoppy with a light lingering bitterness.

Nicely crafted and will please any hop head that wants to drink an amber ale. Well worth a try.

Draft from the source. Clear yellow color, thin head. Aroma is a hints of grain, honey and traces of floral hops.

Flavor shows light Belgian yeast upfront with honey and sweet bread/ biscuit body. The hops are pretty assertive in the finish. The hops are needed to tone down the sweetness. Carbonation gives a light creamy texture. Overall this is one one the best Golden/ Blond ales I have sampled in some time. This has character and that says a lot for the style.

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6

Sampled at Drop-In. Clear darker amber color with thin head. Nose is toffee, European toasted malt, and almost dark fruit like.

Nice malt character. Ample caramel and toffee with light fruity hops or dark fruit in the back end. Toast and nutty secondary flavors. Some light lingering sweetness. Soft carbonation with a medium body. This would be easy to session, nice classic style.

Draught at the brewery on 2/7/14
Medium amber-tinted yellow body sports a white head, moderate lacing, high clarity and good retention.
Pine and grapefruit are sweetened by a touch of caramel maltiness, but they easily win out, keeping things very fresh and hoppy with a medium to medium-high strength of aroma. Quite lemony as well, with a a bracing kick of acids, especially as it warms.
Very dry, well attenuated base malts provide decent body, as the caramel malts just provide a bready texture that dosent quite mesh with the heavy hop assault. It’s not syrupy pine and hot resin but it’s very citric and quite bitter. Never a fan of crystal malt in heavily hopped American IPAs. AKA, I don’t like East coast IPAs. Not that this one is full-on east coast, being very very hop oriented, but it’s just a little unbalanced for me. No sign of the alcohol, as with the rest of their beers. The fermentation and yeast used at this place is great. Just a touch of earthy yeast character in their beers and no alcohol or other off-flavors in any of the beers I had. Furthermore, the beers are all fermented very fully and quite dry, but still have ample body to them. Excited to go back.

Draught at the brewery and a growler (shared in the car 15 minutes later) on 2/7/14
Pale gold body with plentiful white head, high clarity and good retention.
Heavily floral hoppiness in the nose is delightfully fragrant, without any heavy acids but is still quite assertive. Malts are lightly bready in the background and no alcohol or flaws are noted.
A firm texture really makes this feel a lot stronger or bigger than it is, not in a bad way, just dosent seem like youre drinking a session beer. Still, the hoppiness is crisp, citric/floral and with a fair amount of bitterness building up on the end. The dextrinous body evolves with some honey-like maltiness but the strong carbonation keeps it from ever getting any where close to not incredibly sessionable. Nice to feel like youre drinking an IPA when youre actually not getting all the alcohol. That seems to be the point of this style, no? Mission accomplished.

Draught at the brewery on 2/7/14
Very pale straw-golden body has a chill haze to it and sports a slight white head with medium-low retention.
Saaz hops are certainly spicy but are probably outdone, slightly, by the rich maltiness in the nose. Not that it’s sugary or overdone, just quite prevalent. A touch of tartness and light minerals, with warm baked bread-like notes as it warms, emerging. No alcohol or flaws.
The flavor is impressively yeasty and malty, in a good way. Lots of mineral character, with some acidity blending with the richer honey notes to create quite an authentic experience. Texture was a little bit softer than I’d like, probably due to the malt and I could even appreciate a little more hop bite on the end. As is, though, it’s a fantastic example. Nice to see this in the middle of nowhere.

Lovely bright dandelion flower-yellow body is topped by a foamy white head showing good retention. High clarity and plenty of carbonation.
Very hop-forward nose shows off bright citrus and plenty of floral notes. Leafy and fresh, with not too much acidity and a touch of earthiness. Light Belgian esters in the background mix with the hops to provide some tropical fruit-like notes and overall it’s quite a strong aroma for such a seemingly unassuming little beer. No alcohol noted.
Crisp in the mouth with some assertive, yet well-attenuated biscuit-like maltiness leading to the citric hoppiness and all balanced by the tight carbonation giving a nearly creamy palate. Plentiful esters add depth, but it’s not chalk full of them; they obviously didnt just let this thing rip through primary. A touch of pleasant earthiness from the yeast or hops? Very nice.
