Bottle from Acton Wine and Spirits. Pours a solid dark brown with faint ruby at the edges and decent sized bubbly tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Chocolate and light roast on the nose with sweet vanilla notes and a bit of light fruit. The flavor is creamy rich milk chocolate with bits of vanilla and some light roast and earth. Pretty decent drinker.

This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a transparent golden yellow color with fast rising carbonation to fill a one finger white foamy head that dissipated fairly quickly. Light lacing here and there.
The smell took in sweet grassy hops over top of some sweet bready/German yeastiness, clean and pronounced.
The taste was basically the same with a nice smooth crisp sweet bready aftertaste leading on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat light on the body with a great sessionability about it. Could pound this all day in the Summer if I wanted to!
Overall, for a dortmunder/helles lager, I really don’t care what anyone else has to say, but I loved it for what it is and would definitely love it with some bratwurst. Makes me ready for Summer!

This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a nice transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace to fill a rapidly dissipating white head. Light stringy lacing.
The smell had some light sweet bready malts with a crisp nutty character running into it and then a slight sweet grassy hops slyly moving in for the balance. Sweet fruitiness as well.
The taste was basically the same moving very sweet and smooth into the aftertaste. Smooth nutty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed to run light allowing enough to make a wonderful food beer.
Overall, hot damn, what a nice ESB, and made by an American brewer. Fans of the style should be seeking this one. Now pass me the fish n’chips.

On tap at Growler Garage.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt orange almost yellow color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated immediately.
The smell takes off sweet corn and light bready adjuncts.
The taste was mainly the same with a light dry bready to malty aftertaste. Light smooth finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it.
Carbonation runs fairly light.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good sessionable kolsch. Would be a good food beer. I’d have again.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds. A light film of lacing runs around the glass nicely.
The smell starts off with a sweet to smokey bacon and ham thing going on. Light sweet breadiness slides in underneath.
The taste takes the sweetness from the ham and combines nicely with the breadiness nicely. Light semi-wet bacon/bready aftertaste runs into a smooth finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light and smooth.
Overall, nice rauchbier that I would have again.
