Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: murky to muddy burnt orange color with a finger and a half's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: campfire smoky sweet tones, subtle floral to yeasty sweetness, woody sweetness & spices and a light umami scent
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a savory sweet smoky quality with a light floral/earthy undertone; finishes smoky, subtle dry woody nicks and a touch of umami
Texture: light to medium bodied, slightly sessionable; some smoothness but also a little bit of dryness
Overall: fun to try and pretty good for what it was but not the best of the Flynn on Fire Series.

Bottle to mug.
Appearance: dark brown color with a two finger eggshell white frothy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light messy lace
Aroma: thick smoky sweet campfire scents, sweet smooth caramel/toffee notes, dark fruity roastiness and an ever so slight touch of sweet meat
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet smoky quality flanked by a little bit of dark fruity and roasty hints; finishes smooth campfire smoky
Texture: medium to full bodied, great sipper; wonderfully smooth across the tongue with nothing anywhere distracting that smoothness, great carb about this.
Overall: wow, what an absolutely wonderful smoked Marzen! I absolutely would return to this beer!

Appearance: dark mahogany to brown color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace

Overall: aromas and flavors are superb! This is definitely one I very much love to have again!

Overall: yes, I see this as a foreign/export stout and one I would return to.

Appearance: orangey cloudiness with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: some red berries, light lemon and clean sweet grassy hop notes; light caramel malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine bitter to bittersweet quality; finishes slightly lemony and somewhat like strawberries
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; light smoothness despite some bitterness being semi-invasive to the tongue
Overall: at least this one actually seemed closer to the 9.1% - ish range

Can to tulip.
Appearance: bronze color with a little transparent tones along the sides of the glass with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some delicate lace
Aroma: the sweet side of passion fruit with some light lemony hop tones and a little bit of hemp-like hop tones
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine bitter to bittersweet sort of vibe; finishes bitter and a little bit passion fruity to lemony
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being sessionable? Yeah, is this really 9.1? Whoa, hmmmm... and despite the bitterness level in this beer, there is some light smoothness to this
Overall: not a bad beer, just makes me do a double take at the ABV.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: semi-murky copper/orange color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: light pineapple & melon-like hops, clean malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas together in a semi-bitter sort of way, some light sweetness from the hops; finishes semi-melon-like with some bitterness
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, carb seems to be "lower-ish" but also could be a bit lower, and still some bitterness invades the tongue
Overall: still, Switchback is trying at this style, and still, there's a good amount of bitterness. Keep trying, Switchback, you're somewhat getting there, maybe they should do a collab with a Vermont brewery who can get this style down correctly then Switchback will understand this style more.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: hazy orange color with a two finger white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: pineapple, pear and peachy hop scents underscored by a little bit of grapefruity hop backings, light clean malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to more of a bitter side of the bittersweet qualities; finishes by leaning into the grapefruity and piney tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable, carb seems to be lowered better than some other efforts on this style by them, some smoothness but also a semi-strong bitterness on the tongue
Overall: we're getting there, Switchback, still, just a little bit more bitter than some others of this style. I would come back to this.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: burnt yellow to stiff orange haziness with a two finger white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: grapefruit rind-like bitterness with piney bitterness; light clean malts
Flavor: leaning into the bitterness a bit more than the sweet side; finishes closer to the bitter side of the hops
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, carb seems a bit higher than expected for the style, some smoothness but also a good dose of invasive bitter astringency
Overall: I believe this is more of an AIPA, not a bad one but if they're looking at this as a NEIPA then they better go back to the drawing board on this one.
