Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, relatively fast-dying off-white head that shows a subtle lace on the sides after a few minutes. Aroma of very tart, vinous notes with a lot of grapes, blackberries, raspberries, oak foeders and a bunch of vinegar notes, without any real alcohol in the nose, or any yeast or malt, but that is a different topic all together. Light to Medium-bodied; Super tart, fruit-centric beer with berries, light figs, soft apples and pears on the edges with some mellow vinegar notes, but more of the tart fruit than any vinegar, and again - no taste of malt or alcohol at all - very odd, especially for the [reported] style (naturally) and for the alcohol content. Aftertaste is beautiful with the sweet fruits, the tart berries, a lot of sweetness from figs and grapes and a smooth dryness that shows the oak and foeders, but also sometime afterwards, shows the 13,0 per cent in terms of boozey feeling and literally no boozey flavours come in at all - crazy, and great at the same time. Overall, an amazing beer, for sour lovers, for 'traditional' barley wine drinkers for those who love wilds, you name it - this is almost for everyone, except those (usually me) who cannot handle a 13 per cent alcohol beer, especially in a sixteen ounce format, but perhaps I timed it right in aging this, but if I can find others of this on my next trips up to the North East, I will be buying a bunch of this and aging it for years over. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, Vermont on 19-September-2016 for US$8,84 sampled at home in Washington about 3.5 years after purchase on 10-February-2020.

Super clear, deep brown and lightly coppered body with a super small, tan and off-white soda-like head that shows up immediately and fades just as quickly - there is nothing on top and only this super micro-bubbles rising from the sides, only a centimetre or so below the surface - crazy. Aroma of ultra funky, super soured, gueuze-like qualities that show a bunch of belgian, spontaneous-fermenting yeasts, but a lot of squash and light wheat notes with a touch of sweetness and mostly a sour, super funky profile - in a great way, this is literally mouth-watering to me. Light-bodied; Ultra effervescent with a lot of squash and light spices showing through with some canella and allspice and a touch of coriander seed freshness, but the soured, oak and funky tart flavours dominate, in a great way with some sweetness coming through, but nowhere as close to the sourness. Aftertaste shows the dry and floral notes, but again, the sour, foeder and cedar-like flavours dominate with a great tart and almost berry-like profile with some sugars from fruits and a light spice complexity add to the greatness off this. Overall, an amazing, super-complex and ridiculously drinkable beer that shows almost exactly like a gueuze in terms of profile, flavours and complexity and if you were blindfolded, you might think that, but the look obviously shows otherwise (way too dark for that without any head at all) and an American independence make this nice for me to sample! I wish I had more of these and i'd save them longer to see how/if they change further, but this was the only I bought, but I will buy many more if I find this again! I sampled this pint-sized, sixteen ounce can, purchased from Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, Vermont on 19-September-2016 for US$8,04 sampled almost three and a half years later on 09-January-2020 at home in Washington.

Draft at Paragon, 12/30/19.  Mostly clear reddish-orange, off white head, moderate, streaky lace.  Bright, tart, and funky cherry.  Really nice feel.  Excellent, legit Belgian level Kriek here.   8/4/9/4/17

Intense funk, sour hoppy vinous. Would love to grab another of these and put it down for a few years
