Pint can. Clear copper pour with a large foamy off white head that has fair retention. The aroma is mild with grains, caramel and some sawdust. The taste, like the aroma, features, malts, caramel and some lightly bitter woods. The palate is clean and crisp with soft carbonation. Finishes short and semisweet. Overall: decent Oktoberfest--very traditional--but not different or exciting, but that is not expected in this style.

Beer #17 of my 10,00th Beer Milestone Celebration! Deep, but beautiful amber and strong brown coloured body with a slight copper glow and a nice, fast-fading just off-white head that barely shows half a centimetre at most. Aroma of nuts, earth, grain, light toffee and caramelised sugars, pitted fruits, apricots, alcohol and raisins - all quite strong with a big malt character, a strong alcohol bite and perhaps even better - a nice sweetness in the nose, at least. Full-bodied; Super rich, but relatively easy-going sugars come through with a big toffee, caramelised sugar and especially raisin bite with some lighter apricot, peach and even pear notes, but the malt and some leather and warmth from the alcohol come through with a god malt backbone that helps out both the sugars and alcohol pungency, with a strong rich earthiness and rustic quality towards the end that brings out some nice complexities. Aftertaste is strong, but nuanced with a lot of sugars, some oak, cedar and woodsie qualities, a good dash of alcohol that shows perhaps around 10 per cent and a very enjoyable earthy, rustic and mushroomy finish that brings out some nice flavours that aren't always sampled with barely wines. Overall, a pretty nice beer that really has seemed to aged well and while I wish I had another one of these that I purchased at the same time, I probably am glad I saved my $10 bill at the time. This is very nice and perhaps an optimal time to drink this if you have one around the same age (~5 years after purchased). Great to have as my 10k beer celebration of course! I sampled this 16 ounce, pint-sized (why make it this big?!?) can as Beer #17 [of 21 - 10 (for 10,000) of Each side of the 10,000 Beer Milestone and the 10,000th itself!] of my 10,000th Beer Milestone, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 09-March-2018 for US$9,99!!! with a 'best by' (it must be) date of 19-January-2019 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 16-June-2023.

Bottle shared in Canary Wharf - big thanks to MadMitch. Pours rich brown with a modest, foamy tan head. Meaty aroma. Medium to big sweet flavour, notes of candied ham, berries, mellow roast, toffee, subtle earth, vanilla, bourbon. Full bodied, somewhat oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Moderate warmth to finish, more candied ham, lightly smoked malts, earthy bitterness, stewed berries, caramel. Fun, tasty.

Bottle at home. Five year old. Has a deep brown colour with a very small beige head. Aroma of creme brulee, brown sugar, BBQ, bourbon, game meat and oak. Flavour of oak, bourbon, licorice, smoke, ash and dates. Has a slick and silky mouth feel, fullbodied and a soft bitterness. Really rich and tasteful. Nice smokey tones.
