Description
Against The Grain offers an eclectic line of canned and barrel-aged beers. We can be found in up to 43 states in the good o' USA, upwards of 25 countries around the world, and, of course, right here the home in Louisville, KY.
Against the Grain Portland is our production facility. We have a three vessel 30 barrel system alongside five 60 barrel fermenters and our canning line. We also barrel age all of our beer at this location. (only open for special events)

On draft at Sergios. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of chocolate and vanilla. Flavors are semi sweet dark chocolate and bitter roast coffee. Nice one.

Banana, apple, clove, malt, yeast, and hay aroma. Hazy golden yellow with moderate white head. Very sweet banana, orange, apple, clove, malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. Very nice - like a Hefeweizen/Saison hybrid.

Milk, barley malt, and straw aroma. Golden yellow with moderate white head. Moderately sweet light citrus, creamy barley malt, and mildly bitter hay and orange peel flavor. Good body. Nice solid lager.

On tap at GABF. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is wood, spice, smoke, roast, bourbon. Slick body, roasted malt, smoke, wood, spice, dry, boozy finish, very good.

Bottle from weihenweizen: pours black with beige head. Aroma is earthy chai, whisky, dark chocolate. Taste is really earthy and bitter. Lingering mediocre aftertaste. Not well done.

Keg at 73 Enid Street - Bermondsey. Pours deep brown with a foamy, khaki head. Nice roast, moderate pumpkin, some brown bread, pleasant autumnal spices. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, mildly sticky. Not bad.

Smoked ham, biscuit malt, and hay aroma. Golden yellow with large white head. Moderately sweet smoked candied ham, caramel malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Nice body and balance. On the sweet side - nice smoky flavor.
