07/29/19 Oil can from the local ABC in Maui. Pint glass. Clear, russet amber color. Cream-colored head with staying power & sticky lace. Smells of sweet supple malt with a slight grassy edge. Taste is good bread, light toastiness, super dry, with a pleasant zing of bitter green hippiness. Frothy turning thin. Well carved & average ABV detected. Very easy & well done.

Can. Drinking this now definitely leads to some somber reflection. I have no idea if this brewery even exists anymore after the wildfires. Fuck climate change deniers. Pours hazy yellow gold, medium white head, good lacing. Aroma is piney, tropical citrus. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Light body.. standard issue NEIPA that wins serious sympathy points due to current events. Edit: its gone. The satellite images of August 9 show a huge column of black smoke coming directly out of the building. Holy fuck. I hope everybody is ok.

Pretty clear amber and copper coloured body with a thinnish, fast-fading off-white and tan head that leaves a thin lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma of deep, grassy, herbal and piney hops with a lot of malts too and a good tropical twang near the end. Medium-bodied; Rich, malty flavours show at first with a lot of earthiness and nuts with some nice graininess as well and a lot of hop bitterness that hits at the end and produces a lot of astringency, in a good way. Aftertaste is rich, flavourful and once again, bitter, but showing some citrus flavours and a dose of tropical notes as well with a mild sweetness at the tail end and a good balance throughout. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA that drinks like a pure West Coast IPA with some tropical notes, a bit of pine and some mellow sugars. I sampled this ten ounce pour on draught at Kohala Brewery in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii while on Spring Break with my wife and kids on 12-April-2022 for US$7.00.

Super clear and copper coloured body with a thin, fairly fast-dying off-white and tan head. Aroma of pineapple, resin, flowers and a bit of grapefruit, but very strong on hops with a small dose of sugars and some alcohol noticeable too. Medium-bodied; Relatively strong malt notes show a lot of astringency at first, but the hops and alcohol behind show a lot of bitterness and end with a smooth grapefruity sweetness and a light dose of pine at the end. Aftertaste shows a lot of grain, with some sweetness at first, but the bitterness and pungency along with the alcohol finishes nicely here. Overall, a rich, hoppy, bitter, yet balanced IPA that almost hits the Imperial marker, but seems like a West Coaster or even a grassy IPA that could have been from the East Coast with the malt bill. Nice to sample at Pint & Cork as a fourteen ounce pour on draught for US$7,00 sampled while on Spring Break with my wife and kids in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii while on spring on 15-April-2022.
