Another beer with potential ruined by crappy modern hops. +++ Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a slightly hazy copper color with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet with pine and catbox. The flavor was pine, cactus, lemon and catbox. Fairly dry. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied. Disappointing.

On tap at Tir Na Nog. Very bitter, hoppy IPA. Soapy with a touch of floral. Hazy copper pour, small creamy head, tons of lacing. Minor toffee and caramel, mostly straight up, astringent hoppiness.

Tap bocktown and quite a surprise. Was expecting just another example of rude WTF american barleywine. But this was much better. A darker beer, maroon reddish brown and clear. Smell is so friendly soda pop.A darker beer fer sure. First impression is much better than expected. Yes, a simple friendly warming sensation that glides down yer throat. Civilized, oh so much better than those rude mahfah american domestic wanna bees. They would have to age 5 years to taste like this. Unexpectedly civilized for a domestic barley wine, yesserrie. This would age better than harvies or lees, heheh IMHO. And, hey, how often do you have a BW with mild cutting co2?
