Can from Joe's Wine and Liquor, Memphis. Aroma is caramel malt with red fruits, sweet grain, and some rye. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. I expected more from this.

cheap can 3$. virtually clear golden. nose is sweet cloy. stronger apa with bitter bite. lasting middle. fine co2. typical domestic apa with lingering processed phenol finish. near cloying at times. could pass as a mild ipa.

Can 3$. Pours virtually clear pale but, there is a slight haze. Nice big white head fades rapidly. Clean bright pilsner nose. First impression is; it needs more carbonation on the palate. Comes across rather flat, oddly no sizzle at all. Yes it does have some pilsner bite but a little less than most domestic varieties. In the middle, maybe that biter bite becomes more sharp. If it had more cutting co2, this stuff could be somewhat refreshing. Oh well, not bad, but not the greatest, just some what below average for the style. Becomes a tiny bit rubbery on the taste buds in the finish. There, you have it; from a lager lover's POV.

Can, pours clear orange brown. Maybe just a hint of maple in the nose. Yes, a maple sweetness on the uptake into the piehole. Into the middle, it is an ale, but not as ale-ish in the negative attributes as many. I can see this being called a brown ale, but it probably should be styled as a flavored beer. As a brown ale, this stuff would never match up to East End Fat Gary Nut Brown, Brew Keepers Wild & Wonderful Honey Brown, Beaver Brown Note, Bloom Brew Ol Willy Weddell's Brown or even Zuckfoltzfus Squirrel Bait. Towards the end, this stuff is starting to grow on me and is becoming a little more acceptable. Finishes with a milder ale maple taste. Decent co2 thru the session. Average for a flavored beer.

Cheap can. Pour is big n black, large and in charge; frothy head that stays. Sweeter malty nose. First taste is old aged burnt damp campfire wood, bitter baking chocolate and just maybe, a hint of black coffee. Seems more commandingly potent than 6.2%! Some decent sizzling co2, but could use a little more. Burnt bitter sensations tend to dominate the middle. Bitter unsweetened dark baking chocolate is supported by more burnt black coffee. Think strong coffee that's been sitting in a heated coffee pot and simmering for hours. Near the end, an unappreciated bitterness sets in the back of the throat with a tendency towards astringent phenolics. Becomes a little difficult on the finish, with a biting grudge-bearing pointed indignant long-lasting nearly rancorous grudge. There, you have it.
