Established in 2016
From his beginnings as a microbrewery volunteer in Carlsbad, CA, to brewer at San Diego’s Mission Brewery, Jeff honed his craft and discovered his own style. Through his job at Mission and his involvement in local homebrew clubs (Mash Heads), Jeff was exposed to some of the best and brightest craftsmen in the industry.
In 2014, armed with years of experience, research, plans, and thousands of backyard brewing hours to unearth the perfect first flight, Jeff and Tracey moved to Nashville to start New Heights Brewing—an ode to their San Diego neighborhood (our logo features the University Heights’ North Park Water Tower in front of the Nashville skyline), and a salute to starting new beginnings, making bold moves, and finding “home” wherever you are.

Draft at New Heights. Pours a clear silver/gold color with a small finger of white foam that dissipates. Big floral earl grey tea forward nose. Some lemon notes as it warms. Perfumey earl grey, faint lavender on the palate. Light bitterness that lingers.

Draft at New Heights. Pours a clearish straw color with a finger of white foam that lingers. Big ruby red grapefruit nose with faint lime notes. Tart grapefruit on the palate, some lemon/lime notes as well. Refreshing tart finish. Really easy drinking and would be the perfect summer beer.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a mostly clear pale, glowing straw color with a finger of foam that dissipates. Looks much more appealing than New Heights first stab a few months back. Pungent mosaic aromas with lemon, dried pineapple and papaya dominating the nose. Fine, spritzy carbonation, low malt sweetness and a dry character on the palate. As it warms, some sweetness comes out, honey malt notes, but pungent hops throughout. Lingering lemon, pineapple and light malt on the finish. Diggin' this a lot and a step up from their previous brut IPA.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown foam that lingers. Huge roasted coffee, espresso nose with some dark cacao nib undertones. Nose is all coffee though...almost like a fresh cold brew. Body is a touch thin, but more roasty coffee notes with sweet chocolate malt and bitter cacao nib. Fairly dry finish with some hops to cut the sweetness. Solid variant, but I think I still prefer the OG. --- Beer merged from original tick of Coffee Navel Glazer on 16 Sep 2018 at 15:11 - Score: 8

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clear copper with a finger of foam that lingers. Huge, bright grapefruit nose with light caramel notes. More toasted caramel and citrus on the palate. Medium bitterness w/ grapefruit flesh and zest on the finish. Simple and straight-forward but delicious.

Bone dry is right, with a West Coast bitter streak having nary a bit of malt sweetness to offset the resinous, clingy fade. Lemon, green onion, green apple, and pine add nice fruitiness, while the finish grows a moderate hop bite coupled with yeast and woodsy herbal notes. Seems a bit one-sided, like an Imperial Session IPA; I like the idea of the style, but this version might swing too far into the dry territory, leaving an acerbic, almost medicinal taste on the palate. Looks good and bubbly, though, and the texture's what you'd expect from a "champagne" IPA. Overall, makes me think more research with the style is needed.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy glowing straw color with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Very lime forward nose with some saline notes. More lime, green pineapple and grainy malt on the palate. Grainy texture with jalapeno heat and salt that both linger on into the finish. A little more weight in the body and mouthfeel than most goses and it works well. All the flavors get equal mic-time.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy silver that is kind of murky with a full 2 fingers of rocky, fine champagne-like head that dissipates. Soft tropical fruit notes, citrus and pine. Bone-dry on the palate with pithy, bitter citrus. Quite bitter on the finish as well with a long lingering dryness. Ugly out of the can, but I like the taste. Looking foward to this style and mayde draft or a batch 2. --- Beer merged from original tick of Brut IPA on 20 Jul 2018 at 13:20 - Score: 7. Original review text: Nice soft tropical fruit nose. Dry on the palate with w/ slightly more perceived carbonation. Bone dry with some faint melon and bitterness.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a cloudy deep gold to light copper with a finger of foam that lingers, then dissipates. Peach, apricot and piney aromas on the nose. Bitter pine and pith on the palate with an alcoholic burn. Some cake-like sweetness mid-palate a well. Lingering bitter finish with booze. Doesn't come together as well as the others in the series. Too big and boozy.
