In 2015, a new generation has risen and so has the brewery. The Verbeeck-Back family bloodline was reinforced by the De Cock family. Together, they have formed the formidable, reassuringly Belgian-sounding name Verbeeck – Back – De Cock. VBDCK. This new crop of VBDCK heirs to the family tradition of Belgian quality and craft has literally been digging up history by its roots. They are ripping through the nostalgic silence with KEREL, the beer that says it all, and the transformation of the original brewery and family residence into a new place to stay.

opalescent amber colour, medium sized creamy beige-ish ecru head; aroma of orange peel oils, lemongrass, yeasty, some caramel and rye bread crusty notes; taste has similar notes as can be felt in the aroma with much more dominant caramel and rye bready notes; I like it

Közepes, tartós hab, borostyán szín. Gabonás, fűszeres illat. Gabonás, fűszeres ízvilág. Könnyű, közepesen szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Tipikus Saison.

Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, barna szín. Kissé fáradt, édeskés, karamelles, gabonás illat. Karamelles, gabonás, kissé fűszeres ízek. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas és keserű. Nem rossz, de nem is nyűgözött le.

Almost no head, veiled yellow-golden beer. Caramel, cakebottom, fruit for cake (taart) filling, hint of chalk, something almost roast/meat (if very faint). Quite bitter flavour, again chalk, preserved fruit with sweetness returning backthroat, chewing gum-like. There is an exta flavour apparent, half bitter - half wry, adding some bitterness, as from some (unripe) tuber - parsnip, maybe? As to prickly pear... I've had cactusfruit often enough, and that isn't to be found nowhere. Light body, just too sweet to be refreshing, very good carbonation. This is one of those beers that pulls in a dozen directions at once - arriving nowhere.

Bottle. Surprisingly almost clear dark gold/amber with a small white head. Aroma of coriander, flowers and lemons. Taste of yeast, wheat, lemons, caramel, honey, coriander, zest, spices and perfume. Sweet-ish. Low bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Ok but it took some time to get used to and it’s not the kind of Wit I prefer.
