Acquired in a trade. Poured into a Mikasa Tulip at 48 Degrees F. Enjoyed on a warm Sunday out on my porch while doing Spring Cleaning.

A - Poured a dark reddish brown. SRM of 33 easily. 3 Finger head was produced very creamy and light tan in appearance. Subsided quickly with a nice head lacing left over.

S - Gorgeous smell. Deep dark malts, mahogany, walnuts, toffee and cream soda. I’m getting some charcoal scents as well.

T - Whoa. Yeah, this is delicious. It helps I’m a fan of bocks. Very sweet and explosive tongue tingle from the first sip. Notes of wood, earth and nuts. Mild bitterness akin to drinking a root beer. Mild sweet and hoppy lingering.

M - Medium body. 20% carbonation on the mouth swish. Sticks around for a while

O - Great beer. Solid and drinkable.

June 2010: 12 oz Can (4% ABV) picked up at Ruby’s Inn outsdie Bryce Canyon NP. Sat outside our motel room I poured the can into two toothbrush plastic cups, I had nothing else to use! The beer was a golden pilsner colour (what a suprise) and had a pure white head which gave some good lacing on our plastic cups. My notes mention a good body depth, that the beer had character and good attributes which came through from the start of the tasting. All in all, a good pilsner, as good as many original Czech ones I’ve reviewed anyway.

On tap at the brewery. A very cool brew. Pours a beautiful copper color with a large beige head. The aroma is light caramel and bready notes. The flavor is a smooth sweet beer with lots of biscuit and rye bread, a bit if yeasty fruit, light caramel. Very tasty and big.

Can thanks to Dallas. Pours clearish golden orange with white head. Nose/taste of malt, pepper and spicy hops. Medium body.

Aroma of toasted malts and chocolate. Taste of tasted malts, wheat, grainy and chocolate. Decent.

On tap at the brewpub. They called it a just Dunkelweizen. Tastes more like a Dunkel to me. A nice dark brown pour with a small white head. The aroma is sweet chocolate and light roast. The flavor is again chocolate dominated with some grains and light fruit akin to oranges. Clean and easy. Somewhat thin at times. Enjoyable.

On tap at the brewpub pouring clear copper with thick gold edges and near white head. The aroma offers up snippets of sweet malts, lagery yeast notes and faint grainy pilsener like malts. At times I can smell just a sense of floral hops. The taste has an even mix of sweet pilsener malts and floral hops. The hops seem to be equal in bitterness and flavor hops. I think this isn’t terribly fresh but ok.

On tap at the brewpub pouring pale opaque gold with white head. The modest aroma offers up some grainy malts and echoes of citrus from the lemon wedge that they put in the beer. The taste has a nice yummy grainy maltiness laced with mild sweet fruity esters and a touch of malt or caramel or butterscotch or something sweet into the finish.
