Description
CIB Brewery is a small batch, production-only nano brewery located in Carson, Iowa. We are a farmhouse style brewery. This means all of our beers are fermented using proprietary yeast blends including Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and other wild yeasts. The end result of this brewing process is that all of our ales will be somewhat sweet and tart on the palate and be uniquely flavorful. All of our wild yeasts are harvested and cultured in the brewery in Carson, IA.

Not really a beer in so many ways. Like someone said here at tasting, there?s no way the brewer actually tasted this before putting a wax tip on it. I?ve had shit mixes I stole from my dad?s liquor cabinet that were better than this when I was 16. Paint thinner and nail polish. Some raisin. Bottle.

Bottle courtesy of HuskerTan, thanks, I think! Easy opening plastic wax thing, I like it, extra appearance point. Cloudy amber brown color. Aroma of stale cardboard cakebox. Taste is spiced spoiled medicine. Awful. Worst beer at the tasting by far.

750ml bottle with heavy orange wax pours a murky amber with some cloudy, white head. Looks terrible. Nose has mild Fresno pepper, some strawberry, malt. Flavor has bile and some yellow bell pepper, lots of tomato, some chili, some tabasco. Finishes with some acetic tabasco in the throat.

Bottle at the November 2015 DC Gathering. Poured a hazy, almost muddy brown color with an off-white head. surprisingly not awful. no heat though. strawberry fruit roll up with tomato paste notes? I guess - Iβm probably trying to be way more critical of this than Iβd normally be. This is actually not awful for my first CIB beer.

Bottle courtesy of HuskerTan, thanks - I think. Generously shared with my grateful tasting group. Pour wax job, one appearance point off. Murky orange color. Aroma of spiced orange peel. Taste has pepper flesh, light heat and spice. Inoffensive.

Draft/Fest. A- Sour, cocoa, roasty, malty. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Sour, green apples, cocoa, roasty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, astringent finish. O- I should have known this would suck but it was about time I tried something from CIB. And yes, it sucked. Tasted like an infected beer that I would normally drain pour. Canβt believe people enjoy this and they try to make it taste like this. And the worst part was it still had room to be even worse.
