Rerate 2016 : Draft @ ML Fontainas, 3ième fête de la St Jean, shared with Rlgk and _Angst_. Brune foncée, col épais brun café. Arôme est parfait, malté, grillé plein de notes de grillé, malt concassé. Palais est superbe, grillé à souhait avec une impression de barrique peut-être l’effet de l’érable? Petite amertume en fin de bouche, et léger houblonné citronné. Original rate 8.29.2010 7/3/7/4/15 4oz sample @ Churchkey, DC. dark brown, tan head. dark fruits and caramel malts, light roast dry palate with a load of toffee/caramel, some chocolate malts with a lingering sweetness with a touch of hop bitterness. Found it to be a tad weak for an imp. stout. leaving a thin body.

4oz sample @ Churchkey, DC. dark brown, mocha head outstanding fruit aroma, lots of caramel malts, licorice-toffee? flavors, getting a load of dark fruits along with a mild presence of licorice, possible anise, whatever it is, the mouthfeel is unique and flavorful. finish is dry, hinting at some herbal elements with notes of coffee.

4oz sample @ Churchkey, DC. burgundy color, off-white aroma, sweet caramel notes, malty and fruity with some estery yeast. flavors, woot woot, another full on flavored beer, dark fruits,; fig, dates, caramel malts hinting at some toffee elements. As it warms up, the beer develops a lot more sweeter dark fruity approach along with a more pronounced caramel-toffee palate, really showing it’s abv. Enjoying this brewery a lot, the Weizengrip is just a perfect crafting of Weizen style into original tasty beers.

4oz sample @ Churchkey, DC. copperish pour, golden head. aroma, earthly/yeasty smoked malts with some lingering Hefe esters and fruits. flavors, outstanding smoked malts, perfect balance on this one with a touch of hefe elements, mild citrus notes, yeasty, smoke is just everywhere without being over the top while leaving a very mild citrus fruit bitterness in the finish.

4oz sample @ Churchkey, DC. Hazy golden, white head. nice orange peel flavor and aroma, hints of spices, typical wit with some lasting coriander, wheat, yeasty. Medium hop while keep a nice tangy-lemony and citrus mouthfeel. Found this one to be refreshing, well balanced. Dry-crisp finish.

Draft at Churchkey. Murky brown, large thick tan head, massive lacing. Aroma of alcohol, butterscotch, vanilla. Taste is very smooth, caramel, light spice. Decent.

Draft at Churchkey. Very dark maroon, thick brown head, solid lacing. Aroma of candied dark chocolate, black liquorice. Taste is dark chocolate soda, hi carbonation. Good stuff.
