Description
Old Bust Head Brewing Company is an independent, solar-powered microbrewery in Fauquier County, VA west of DC. Our experience brewing traditional ales & lagers has helped us win awards in styles classic and creative. With beautiful views of slate roofed barns and refurbished campus-like brick buildings, Old Bust Head is part of a unique farm called ‘Vint Hill’ that for 50 years operated as a top secret military listening post. Familiar faces behind the bar share their love of craft in our 1950’s post & beam taproom while covered outdoor seating between our taproom and production area provides a welcoming environment for leashed dogs and all-weather access to a rotating variety of food trucks.

12 ounce bottle at Jack Brown’s beer and Burger joint, Norfolk Virginia. Aroma is huge caramel that downplayed the coffee. The caramel shows up large in the flavor. Overpowering everything else. Rides the line of cloying. Not finding any balance.

Tea nose. Crystal clear amber, medium head, nice lace. Ashtray, green beans, marigold. Light body, easy carbonation. I doubt there is any technical flaws, but the interpretation of the style is off and unenjoyable.

Pint can thanks to hershiser2! 2/24/2021. Hazy orange, large white head, good retention. Aroma of tangerine, mango, vanilla, pale malt. Taste is pineapple, mango, tangerine, orange, pale malt. Medium bodied, juicy. Seems a tad bit aged. Decent.

$3.45 pint can, WW. Clear dark brown, a bit light in color for a stout. Peppermint, catnip, chocolate, caramel nose. Caramel, peppermint, light coffee, metallic notes. This doesn't work for me... it's like coffee flavored mouthwash. Not quite dump-worthy (yet), but I'd never drink this again.

Can. Poured a dark brown with a medium sized light tan head. Light roast is still there, but the aroma and flavors are dominated by peppermint. Light sweetness, but doesn't taste like diabetes juice. Slight sweetness, caramel and a little coffee. This had a lower abv than I expected it to have.
