Draft at the source. Opaque brown/black color, beige head. Aroma of brownies dipped in coffee. Nice coffee grounds roasty flavor, but still beery enough. Light body. Nice.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear copper to amber colored body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up brown sugar, prunes, a bit of gingerbread cookie and then a sliver of booze at the end of the draw. The taste delivers smooth brown sugar, molasses, prunes and dates that gets a tad raisin like toward midway. Into the finish a brief chocolate malt note is sometimes noticed giving this a pleasing degree of added interest. Into the finish it gets faintly gingerbread cookie like just as a modest booziness hits to close out the experience. Pretty nice stuff.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a nice deep dark body that supports a thin mocha head of foam. The aroma offers up a dash of dark fruity esters and then larger notes of dark roasted malts and chocolate malts. Tthe taste delivers a pleasing and varied blend of dark roasted malts, chocolate and then some slivers of burnt maltiness. Just as the dark roastiness to nearly burnt malts recede just a bit a nice somewhat malt sweetened chocolate note takes over. That works. The chocolate and dark roastiness just ride into the finish on top of a smooth mouth feel.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a deep dark mahogany to black body that supports a mocha colored head. The aroma offers up big bold dark roasted coffee goodness rimmed thinly by a mild sweet note that seems a bit toffee like. The taste is full and robust with dark roasted malts and near oily dark roasted coffee notes. Wow. Big rich coffee goodness. It seems this might be just too roasty for its own good but a pleasing sweet note lurks around in the background keeping this thing under control. The yummy coffee dark roastiness just lingers and lingers deep into the after taste. Very nice roasty beer. Man!

The taste delivers smooth sweet malts and a bit of vanilla rolling into modest dark roasted malts. Toward the finish I seem to get a thin peanut butter sensation that adds to the experience. Solid.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits hazy deep gold body that supports a white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up fruity esters like apple, raisin, pear and a sliver of banana to go along with yeasty spiciness. The taste has some sweetness but that’s balanced by a nice punchy saison spiciness. I get some apple, a thin banana note, sweet raisin and then a load of smooth yet firm spices. Pretty darn nice for a US brewed saison as the spices aren’t too bright and add a counterpoint to the sweetness to a certain extent. But this is an all too typical too sweet and too heavy offering just like almost all US brewed saisons, sadly

The aroma offers up crystal like malts, a sweet vanilla sort of caramel note that seems off, a big hit of spicy apple sweetness and mild spicy hoppiness. The taste delivers an odd malty, roasty, sweet vanilla butterscotch and spicy hoppiness and spicy sweet apple combination. This just isn’t working.

Growler pours with a clear rosy red amber body that supports a nice tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up spicy dank and citrus grapefruit like hops flowing into mild various malt notes. The taste brings up a pleasing blend of malts and crisp citrus hops, spicy dank hops and some resiny pine hops. The flavor isn’t too heavy or too thin but just right and the blend of pine and spicy dank and citrus hops works pretty damn well. Very nice (but I get the sense that this won’t age all that well. Get it fresh).

A golden amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light perfumy notes, grassy hops, OK. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light grainy notes, butterscotch final. On tap at brewery.

A dark brown ipa with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, light chocolate malt with coffee notes, grassy floral hops, grapefruit, nice. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, floral hops with grapefruit pulp, very nice. On tap at brewery.
