Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a soft burnt semi-dark copper color with a finger’s worth of semi-white to slightly eggshell white foamy head. Softly glistens and falls at a good pace. Messy lace.
The aroma had some sweet to roasty malts, light nuts and some cocoa powder.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side with a nutty aftertaste along with the cocoa powder. Not much of a finish, somewhat roasty if anything.
The feel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. ABV felt as projected.
Overall, good brown ale would have again if I could get it.

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a semi-clear ruby to dark red almost brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Light stringy sliding lace.
The aroma had some bready malt with a touch of spicy to earthy hop back up. Some caramel and toast and then roast.
The flavor stays malty and bready with a nice sweetness about it. Nice blended sweet to roasty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt appropriate as projected by the brewer.
Overall, pretty good doppelbock that I would have again if I could get it.

The aroma had some spicy rye, some grass, subtle grainy sweetness and then some black pepper.
The flavor brings all of the previously mentioned aromas together and bringing in a touch of herbal quality about it. Moderate spicy sort of aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionabilty about it. Decent carbonation. ABV felt as appropriate as the brewer projected.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a soft transparent orange to yellow color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated immediately.
The aroma had some citrus sweetness with some light honey underneath.
The flavor yielded to the sweetness all throughout with the same sort of aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation touches the ABV seemingly just right.
Overall, for the most part, I don’t mind this one. It’s good for a golden ale, worthy of having again preferably on a Summer’s day.
