37.5cl bottle pours with a deep dark brown colored body that has dark copper hued edges and supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate (mostly a dark chocolate sensation), vast amount of vanilla, a bit of roasted malts and then a peanut like nuttiness rounding things out. Another pull and the whiskey (or maybe also bourbon) like barrel treatment is noticed as well. The taste is rich and slick and oily with desert sipper beer goodness. I get velvety dark chocolate and sweet vanilla bean wrapped around a supple whiskey like booziness. Well off in the background are murmurs of nuttiness and a sense of roastiness. This is well integrated and well constructed with pleasing balance between adjuncted beer and the barrel treatment. Solid stuff.

On tap at Sip Coffee and Beer, Phoenix airport. Hazy pale yellow, light sparkle, nice head, excellent retention and nice rings of lacing. Aroma is very strong candied lemon, orange.and grapefruit. Taste mirrors aroma. Smooth texture, lively carbonation, sweet finish as taste.

375mL bottle pours with a mahogany colored body, that doesn't look all that dark for a stout, that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up a bit of marshmallow and then sherry like fruitiness, blunted chocolate bar and a sense of dark roasted malts in the background. The taste is slick and sweet and rich but it never somehow gets too rich or too sweet. I get chocolate and some thin dark roasted malts floating over an oil slick of yummy reduced molasses like sugars and the Blanton's boozy spirit barrel treatment. This just integrates so well together and leaves you with a pleasing warming sensation into the belly. The spirit comes across smooth and supple and trying to be a bit candy like before the boozy heat hits and drives a flaccid wedge through the experience. Well crafted and a great sipper.

375mL bottle pours with a mahogany colored body, that doesn't look all that dark for a stout, that supports a thin tan head. The modest aroma offers up reduced sugars, a dash of sherry and then a sense of roast and faint chocolate. The taste delivers, whoa . . . the integrated and moderately complex flavor hits right away, err, it delivers fun dark roasted malts and chocolate and then getting into the boozy barrel character. Beneath those notes are slicker sweeter sort of toffee molasses goodness. Wow. This is a well executed sipper as it's integrated, runs deep and rich but not too much, carries great balance between beer notes and barrel treatment and it also maintains a pleasing slick mouth feel that's just right. Yeah, keep this up team The Shop Beer Co.. This is one of the better beers I've had in a while.

Pint can pours with a crystal clear golden colored body that supports a nice white head of foam. The aroma offers up some sweet bread, a sliver of lemon, sugary malts and then apple to pear like fruity esters. The taste delivers a fair load of lemon and grapefruit like hop bitterness flowing into a blend of sweet bread and sweet apple to pear like fruity esters. This is a pretty nice Helles that's only slightly bitter hop forward remaining pretty close to style.

Poured up on tap at Tipsy Cactus where it exhibits a clear gold colored body that supports an off white head. The aroma offers up berry, grapefruit, some orange and then a bit of floral hops. The taste delivers fairly firm hop bitterness that runs from floral to grapefruit and then back to floral. Islands of sweeter malt infused citrus interrupts the pathway to the finish. I enjoy the citrus hop bitterness but the floral hops less so. Nice one nonetheless.

Sampled from the tap at Lovecraft. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has straw and hay with a bit of light grass and leaves underlying. Flavor has grass and a bit of melon supported by straw and light hay notes.
