Hazy orange yellow with oodles of foam.

Big clove and banana smell. Yeah, wheat too.

Cloves, banana, wheat with some lemon.

Medium body with lively carbonation.

Excellent example of the style!

Tap at GABF. Pours a hazy orange with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is spice, clove, yeast, wheat. Medium body, wheat, clove, citrus, pepper in finish, good.

This pours a clear pale gold with plenty of foam.

The smell is of bready malt and quite a bit of fruity notes.

Tastes of bread, grassy hops, and sometimes delicate, sometimes more assertive fruitiness.

Medium body and carbonation.

Excellent Koelsch!

12 oz. bottle, from the variety pack. Pale, very bubbly yellow, with a huge, foamy, white head. The nose is lemon zest, bread yeast, and some light mustiness. Sweet and grainy, with a fairly assertive, dank bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and sharp. This is a relatively nice, fruity, crisp beer, but it’s overhopped, and too heavy.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a pale, hazy yellow, with a small, bubbly, off-white head. The nose is bread dough, sweet corn syrup, bananas and bubblegum, and overripe apples. Sweet and bready, with a bit of sharp, odd bitterness. Light to medium body, syrupy, crisp, and a little hard. This is a pretty nice, yeasty, estery bock.

12 oz. bottle, from the variety pack. Pours hazy brown, with a neverending foamy, off-white head. The nose is anise, oak, dank hops, and vinegar. Sweet and malty, with an awful bitterness. Medium body, sharp, and sticky. This is a pretty poor beer. Thankfully the massive foam dampens our the aromas.

12 oz. bottle, from the variety pack. Pours clear, very bubbly, yellow, with a big, frothy white head. The nose is wet grass, straw, pine sap, and a light metallic twang. A bit sweet and grainy up from, with a mild and startlingly unpleasant bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body, hard, sticky, and grainy. This is a overhopped mess. Not refreshing, nor quaffable.

50cl mug draft at Prost Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado. The pour is slight haze golden with a well formed one inch white head. Nice lace left behind on the glass. The aroma is earth, herbal and fresh cracker malt. The taste is really nice herbal clove, mineral, fresh hay and the bready cracker malt. The palate is light bodied with soft natural carbonation, mineral clean, lingering clove finish. Really nice Keller beer.

Somehow I’d expected more out of this, but it ended up being fairly bland. It’s just not too much or too little of Anything. Yawn.
