Description
Founded in Herefordshire.
Pressed, fermented, and bottled in Gloucestershire.

Dunkertons history reaches back to 1980 when Ivor and Susie Dunkerton made the decision to escape London and buy a small holding in Pembridge, Herefordshire. They realised that with such a small amount of land they needed to specialise in some form of agriculture and spotted that traditional cider making presented a fantastic opportunity.

In 2014 Ivor and Susie passed Dunkertons to their son Julian and his business partner Bean.

In 2016 the production business relocated to our new state of the art cidery at Dowdeswell Park, Cheltenham.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2010. Silver gold, some fruit, not a great perry, if anything slightly boozy, some decent fruit, but hot too. Not very subtle.

Bottle. A slightly unclear cider, pale golden in color, and with a small rim of white bubbles on top. The aroma is quite lovley, with lots of overripe apples, orchard and some manure-like rotting hay scents in a pleasant way. It’s tart and medium bodied, quenching and tasteful. Apples dominates the flavor, but there’s a good yeasty funkyness too. Quite astringent towards the end, Some added sulphites pulls down the score a bit, as it’s too detectable in the end. But overall, a nice companion with my rye bread and cheese. 100701

500 ml bottle, bought at Vinmonopolet, Norway. Organic, medium sweet sparkling cider. ABV is 6.8%. Golden colour, pours very fizzy with a big but short-lived head. Slightly hazy at the end. Very nice aroma and flavour of oxidised cider apples, hints of sulphur. The flavour is first moderately sweet, but ends dry and slightly tart. A decent and drinkable cider!

Bottle from Waitrose. Slightly hazy gold in colour with moderate carbonation. Aroma of slightly tart apple juice, honey and a hint of the barnyard. Flavour began with dry, tannic juice flavours before sweetness became prominent in the finish. Good.

Bottle 50 cl. Hazy pale yellow with hardly any head. Astringent appley and sulphurous nose. Medium body, sweet apple accents are challenged by a peely astrigency - very typical British. 190110
