Slightly hazy intense orange with an off-white head. Aroma is full of candied tropical citrus fruit. Medium bodied. Flavor is tropical fruit, sweet, caramel malts. Lightly soapy. Finish is caramel sweet with medium bitterness. The aroma is my favorite part of this and the flavor lets it down a bit. Still, a nice IPA.

Bottle. A- Rotten garbage, dates, figs. A- Black color, dark liquid, off white head. T- Figs, subtle caramel, malty, wood, unbalanced. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, O- This was the worst smelling beer of all time. It smelled like a bag of rotting trash in a backstreet alley. The bottle description lies. The flavor was okay, but certainly not what they listed. Maybe it was a bad bottle, I don’t know but I’m not spending 13.99 to chance another bottle.

Pours an orangeish-yellow that’s just a bit murky, with smallish head. Hop and fruit aromas. Flavor is hoppy and malty, with some metallic underpinnings, and a touch of homebrew flavor (you know how homebrews all taste the same?). I think this one has potential, but a few of the rough edges have to be worked out first.

Bottle @ home from the rot box. This is a serious Iowa whale, so I’ll plan on chugging it properly. Pours a black appearance with a dark brown head. Chewy, toasted caramel malts, dark chocolate, light whiskey, and vanilla in the aroma. Kind of gooey mouth feel. Moderate plus sweetness. Moderate low bitterness. Herbal / grassy hops. Somewhat boozy. Pretty thick body. Some chocolate in the aftertaste with somewhat warm finish. Pretty dang good.

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at Beer Crazy in Urbandale, Iowa. The pour is a mostly clear golden orange with a one inch egg white head. The head falls with a thick coating of lace. The aroma is caramel malt and resin pine bitterness. The taste is the pine bitterness, mostly, along with a sharp grapefruit peel character to the back. The sweetness of the caramel in the nose is subdued, and decently integrated to the bitterness. The palate is medium bodied with low carbonation and the bitter finish. Some nice mineral is present in the aftertaste as the beer warms. Just OK.

Bottle from Pepsi - thanks! Pours opaque black, medium creamy brown head, dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee, something a bit off going on. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, coffee, ashtray. Medium body. Not bad, despite the odd smell.

Bottle thanks to Pepsi! Gusher! Pours hazy red amber with tons of suspended floaties. Medium beige head, creamy with nice lacing Aroma is caramel, toffee, oak, vanilla, cardboard. Flavor is the same, yep, a lot of wood and vanilla here, medium sweet, light bitter. Woody, almost cedar feel to it. Lingering bitter finish. Medium body. Points for originality if nothing else@

Bottle: Very dark brown pour, huge brown head. Very thick lacing. Boozy nose… whisky and malts. Light char. Translates a bit better in the taste; whiskey, roast, smoke and ash. Good stock, but a tad over-carbonated for my liking.
