In 2009, careful consideration led to the decision to start a small brewery. A small brewery, because: ‘monks brew to live and do not live to brew’. Building work began in 2012. Following extensive preparations, the plans were implemented between October 2012 and October 2013. The brewery was built within the existing contours of the former buildings of the De Kievit farm. These buildings also house the workplaces. ‘Zundert Trappist’ beer was introduced on the market in December 2013.

Much darker than I expected- like a cross between a tripel and dubbel. A bit of sweet malt, toffee, spice, light pepper, dried fruit. Medium bodied. A nice beer but hard to think of it as a tripel.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Clear copper coloured brew with an fine sweet bitter taste and there are spicy and hoppy hints. Nice new Trappistbeer from an new Dutch Trappistbrewery.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Dark brown colored brew with an nicely sweet bitter taste, hints of caramel, dried fruits and spices. I think they used an hop with northwest American origin, but correct me if i'am wrong.

Fles gedeeld met familie. Het is een donkerbruin bier met mooie beige schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van banaan, gedroogd rood fruit en drop. De smaak is zoet, rozijnen en een hint dadels met salmiak en drop in de nasmaak.

Bottle at Fox River House, 2/6/24. New brewery! Brewery # 2266, Belgium # 91. Deep red with floaties. Medium white head, average retention. Aroma of dates, brown sugar, yeast. Taste is yeast, spice, raisin, plum, caramel, apple. Thin for style. Some bubblegum as it warms.

330ml bottle from Mount St Bernard Brewery Shop in Coalville - mucky amber body, scuzzy white top. Grainy taste, hoppy grassiness, fresh and just shy of being bitter. Really nice refectory beer.
Tastes very Dutch.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een donker roodbruin bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een fruitige wat kruidige geur. De smaak is moutig, basterdsuiker achtig met tonen van pruimen.

Glas gedronken bij Tomhendriksen. Donkerbruin bier met mooie beige schuimkraag. Aroma van drop. Smaak is zoet met salmiak. Nasmaak van salmiak/drop en plakkerig.

Glas gedronken bij trappistenmarkt 2024 in Berkel-Enschot. Donker roodbruin bier met een stevige schuimkraag. Aroma is fruitig (framboos). De smaak is kruidig en bitter met wat zoete tonen. Nasmaak is licht bitter.
