In 2009, careful consideration led to the decision to start a small brewery. A small brewery, because: ‘monks brew to live and do not live to brew’. Building work began in 2012. Following extensive preparations, the plans were implemented between October 2012 and October 2013. The brewery was built within the existing contours of the former buildings of the De Kievit farm. These buildings also house the workplaces. ‘Zundert Trappist’ beer was introduced on the market in December 2013.

330ml bottle. Pours amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of fruits, caramel, spice & malt. Medium body. Somewhat tart light bitter finish.

Refrigerated 33 cl brown bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Translucent burnt orange with medium off-white head. Aroma is spice, medium body, medium carbonation, and great lacing. Taste is spice with base malt.

Good white head, bit fluffy, over hazy orange beer. Yeast, bit of solvent. Smells like a beer in full fermentation, yet on the brink of the BBd...? Banana, even clove, wheataromas. Bitter-grainy flavour, very good albeit again some solvent. Cypress, conifers. Feels well-bodied for only 4%, and really slick. Good carbonation. The solvent is a crying shame, otherwise this would get even higher notes. Txs to Stef!

Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Gedronken bij Herberg 't Pannehûske in Achtmaal. Helder lichtbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is hoppig en best intens voor een laag alcohol bier en heel goed met iets van gras en kruiden.

Nagy, örökké tartó, bézs hab, sötétbarna, majdnem fekete szín. Gabonás, karamelles illat. Gabonás, pörkölt malátás, karamelles íz. Testes, közepesen szénsavas, enyhén kesernyés. Egyszerű, nem túl ízgazdag quad.

Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a huge head of foam, excellent retention and lacing.
Smell spicy, fruity, candi sugar, some caramel malt, earthy.
Taste is malty, some spice and fruit, earthy, more malt with some sweetness, bitter almost all in the finish for me. Unusual.
Great mouthfeel.
Sad that the brewery is closing.
Bottled from Department. Older bottle. Murky brown yellow pour. Fruits, slightly funky sour, yeast. Sugar. Good

Bottle from Brygshoppen. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are rich malt, caramel, nuts, dried fruits and hops. Nice malty finish.
