Description
We are Fyne Ales, a family-owned Scottish farm brewery. When our brewery was founded in 2001, the goal was not only to make the best quality beer, but to bring jobs, industry and tourism to our community and our quiet corner of rural Scotland. We’ve continued brewing in this spirit ever since. Drawing water from the hills and brewing in converted farm buildings, we create modern, ambitious and progressive beers in a wide variety of styles.

Keg and cans. Clear deep golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and orange. Flavour of pink grapefruit and vine tomatoes. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Crisp and hoppy. This is an excellent west coast session IPA.

Bottle. Clear golden body with a lasting white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon, white grape, biscuit and orange. Flavour of tangerine, grass, minerals and lime. Thin to medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Fruity and well balanced. It’s like a lighter version of Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale. This used to be one of my go-to beers, but it’s not quite as fruity/orangey as I remember it once being.

Cask at The Queen Vic. It pours clear blonde with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy, zingy orangey citrus, mango, peach, crunchy green melon and biscuity malt. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, pleasing and lingering bitterness, pithy, zesty, orange peel, tangerine, kumquat, peach, mango and some sherbet with a drying finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Bags of flavour. Super crushable.

Cask at The Gordon Highlander. It pours clear dark brown with a thick, fluffy khaki head. The aroma is cacao nibs, chocolate bourbons, woody, bitter - sweet, brownie, coffee grounds and some charred wood. The taste is dry, woody, leather, cacao nibs, toasted nut, coffee grounds, dried berry and malt loaf with a lingering drying and bitter finish. Average body and cask carbonation. Maybe lacks a bit of oompf, but it is rounded and quaffable 3.6

Cask at Prince of Wales, Aberdeen. It pours hazy dirty blonde with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, juicy, tangy, peachy, mango, tropical fruit hubba bubba, pineapple, green, dank and herbal. The taste is dryish upfront, sweet, juicy, nice depth of fruity flavour, mango, peach, passion fruit, twist of citrus, waxy peel, um bingo, green, herbal, touch of spice and slightly chalky finish. Average body and moderate, fluffy cask carbonation. Really like the aroma. Hazier, sweeter and less bitter than usual Fyne Ale offerings. Enjoyable, but a bit more muddled than usual Fyne.

Draught keg at the King's Head, Stamford. Light reddish purple, very translucent with a pinkish white ring of head. Spicy notes, forest fruits, blackberry. Tart and wild in the mouth with the blackberry shining through but not dominating. Light body with extremely heavy carbonation. Exciting sour.

Lotta flavour packed in there. Soft roast, milk chocolate, a little earth, burnt crackery malts, brown bread, a nip of toffee. Dried fruits, raisins. Good condition. Nicely rounded.
