Draft. Very dark brown, tiny edge head. Aroma and taste of coffee grounds and chocolate. Resembles a light bodied Guinness.

Beautiful crisp copper coloured body with a slight ruby tint and a nice thin tan head - this is the way an APA should look! Aroma of malt, perfume, light pine and a touch of hops - fairly watery. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive hops up front with a large chewy feel at first then fades to a mild balanced beer with a light finish of floral and piney hops. Aftertaste shows some slight bitterness, but relatively mild for the style and only a touch of sugars at the end. Overall, no bad tastes, no mind-blowing flavours and a relatively boring flavour profile, but well executed and perfectly balanced - there just wasn’t enough character in the ingredients to show beyond the brewing process. Worth a try, since its a rarity, and the price was right, but the large bottle is a bit unyielding. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Ye Old Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland on 29-July-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 09-September-2010.

Standard Belgian-style ale. Nothing to write home about but a solid enough beer. Some pepper, light malt and fruity Belgian yeast. Relatively thin feel. Ok.

Dark roasted barley malt and charcoal nose. Black, thin yellow head. Dry charcoal flavor, slight tang. Not very dynamic.

Buttery cherry smell. Cloudy rose colored. Tart, slight diacetyl tasting. Disappointing and flawed.

Some earthy and biscuity malts with light herbal hops and a bit of citrus. Has a nice dry, bitter finish. Not over the top and definitely mislabeled (not imperial in any way) but it’s very drinkable IPA.

750ml bottle at the DC Local tasting. Pours a slightly hazy, yellow gold with a frothy white head. Sugary aroma, malty, Belgian yeast, tropical fruits, a little fusel alcohol. Flavor is sweet, sugary, pale malts, yeast. Full bodied, sweet finish. Kinda eh...

750ml bottle at the DC Local tasting. Pours a transparent purple with a little cloudy white head. BIG blueberry aroma, raspberry too with a touch of sweetness in the nose. Flavor is sugar and berry, like a popsicle. Watery finish.

Bottle. The commercial description is pretty accurate. Light, sweet and thin, with a mixture of summer fruit flavors. That’s about it.
