(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 23 Feb 2018) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, pineapple and cereal. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple, grass and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Fresh, tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

330ml, 6.5 %, on tap, house beer at Dopey's Elixer. Cloudy orange-golden body. Patchy surface, dotted spots on the glass. Herbal hops on the nose, malty sweetness beneath. Fruit hoppy flavours of oranges, mid-dry. Hints of brown malts far behind. Bittersweet end. Rounded mouth feel. Pleasing. (Shared with Leif, Amsterdam 11.03.2018),

Draught, beer flight, at Tap Zuid. Low white head leaving crocheted lacing on the glass. Close to clear amber coloured body. Smell of dried fruits and juicy malts. Pine, dried fruits and bread to the taste character. Resinous bitterness to a long-lived ending, warming down the throat. Full bodied. Enjoying. (Amsterdam 08.03.2018).

Small to medium but reasonably stable ochre-cream to tan head over jet-black beer. Sweetish, vanilla cream, crème Anglaise , green leaves, roast, whiffs of manure. Quite roasted taste, quite some bitterness; sweet malts remaining underneath. Black chocolate, faintly ashy, hint of banana. Quite well-bodied, viscous. Aftertaste has a metallic burnt bitterness, that keeps lingering. Good carbonation. Not all aspects of this I.S. are an equal success, but in the end it is pleasing. What a 15m long prehistoric shark has to do with this, is anybody's guess. 6/4/7/3/14

Small cream-coloured head, fast reduced to rim; initially well-carbonated red-brown beer. Malty nose, old nuts, madeirisated strong wine, rosewater, bit soupy. Malt but with a pronounced bitterness, mostly hoppy and slightly roasted caramel. Again rosewater, again with hardly any sweetness. Just the finish betraying the sugars with a marked caramelly stickiness. Autumn leaves, undergrowth. Medium bodied, slick. Soft to medium carbonation. Vinous aftertaste,if a tad wry. Nice! 7/4/8/3/15

Small yellow-cream head, slightly irregular, fed by lively carbonated black beer. Smoked, phenolic, smoked fish aroma's, woodfire, ashes. Sweetish, roasted/burnt and smoked. Phenolic if sweet, meaty but also something as from dried (dark) fruit. Chewy, viscous mouthfeel, well-bodied, well-carbonated. Quite good - the fishy streak in the nose might be offputting at the very first try, but mellows out and blends in perfectly. 7/4/7/4/15
