Description

(Bottle, 0,33 l, at Viisi Penniä, 20150220) The beer poured dark brown and rather clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had kandi sugar, berries and sourness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, earth, berries, sourness and bitterness. Aftertaste was tart and bitter. A somewhat contaminated dubbel.

Bottle, thanks SirLimpsalot. A bit hazy dark red with a small pink head. Sweet with cherries, berries, light oak and some minerals. Very easy to drink and with a low bitterness. Almost like a lemonade.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ BBF 2014. Dark brown, big mocha bubbles. Noticeably sour nose, sour dark cherries, cacao, mocha,… Taste is light vinegar sourness, light dark cherries, mocha, chocolate, light hint of iron, touch thin,… Good but could be even richer & more decadent but quite a nice beer all the same.

Bottled. Slightly hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is malts, citrus, some toffee, funk, yeast and mild cheesy notes. Flavour is wood, citrus, toffee, some tart wood and mild citrusy acidic notes. Not sure if this is intended sour/tart, but it kinda suits the beer.

clear yellow, smooth white head. spicy and sourish aroma, hay, yeasty like a saison, but also sourish notes, likely from the wood. Flavor is yeasty, yeasty spicy, fruity and sourish from wood, as well as some faint herbal bitter notes. Kinda interesting beer which seem to have taken a lot of flavor from the wood and medoc. Alc. is pretty well hidden, and the beer appears refreshing although it is a tad heavy.
