2021 vintage shared with the boys, courtesy of RJ. Interesting to read other ratings here cause our bottle was not like what others describe, close to no fruit character, and while the base is convincing enough, pleasantly funky with a mild but pleasant acidity, it’s not what you’d expect from a fruited lambic for sure.

Bottle shared with the boys, courtesy of RJ. Beautiful jamm acidic fruityness combine with playful funk, puckering acidity but highly fruity too, straightfoward, but highly, highly pleasant.

Glass at Volo in Toronto. Dark purple pour, like a dark plum, with a tiny purpleish head. Aroma is very tart, there is a solid blueberry flavour, but zero sweetness. light funky notes, wet hay mixed with very tart blueberries. Mouth feel and carb are soft, and full. The finish is very tart, and fruity, but again, its odd getting this blueberry flavour, but having zero sweetness attached to it. interesting to say the least.

The barnyard funky horse blanket aromas are there, but they are not as prnounced and upfront like other geuzes ive had. There are many as upfront aromas light lemon zest, wet hay, and musty hops, also. The finish is quite tart, but again, i expected more, but its still very enjoyable. Im really digging the incredible balance between the sourness and other flavours.

Pours unclear, slightly orange blonde. No real head. Scent is very fruit forward, super natural and fresh. The bottle is 2021, drinking in 2025 - so this is a bit of a surprise, but a very pleasant one indeed. It's like actually smelling (quality) fruit! Mild lambic funk in the back, some oak, but fruit does take the (nice) lead ! Taste is vibrant, fruity, with an almost coockie dough, vanilla like feature in the back. Medium acidity, tad astrigent as well - but nothing out of balance. Still véry fruitforward. Milder on the funk. Pretty nice ! Very low, but not completely absent carbo. Being a person that barely ever eats fruit - this is a type and quality of fruit I would actually like ! Tad harsh acidity in the late aftertaste.

Aroma of sour fruits, apples, peach, orange, vinegar, some barnyard funk. Flavour is sour and tart with just a hint of sweetness on the tongue. Surprisingly fruity and rather refreshing, an excellent Lambic.

Bottle from Burg Bieren, Ermelo. 2016 vintage. Aroma is intense tart and sour cherries, barnyard funk, light oak, mild vinegar, with more lovely cherries providing the finish. Flavour is quite tart and nicely puckering sour with some sweetness as well. Body is medium. Intensely fruity with tons of cherries, almost a fruit yoghurt character there. Lovely cherry bomb.

Аромат ягодный и сухофруктный, немного цитрусовый и травянистый. Ощущаются ягоды типа смородины черной и белой, немного яблока и кураги, даже намеки на грушу. Конечно по классике стиля хлев есть, но больше травянистости. Цвет чутка темнее чем должен быть, пенка шипит. Вкус весьма сильно резонирует с ароматом. Во первых сильная кислота, в основе лимонная которая дает о себе знать почти сразу. Далее хмелевая сухость, яблоко без груши уже. Послевкусие ягодное, слегка неспелая малина с травянистостью. В целом хорошо, но аромат обещал большего.
