Not too familiar with gooseberry, to be honest, but since this was one of the fruits in de cam speciaal, which to this day is my best fruited De Cam, I really wanted to try this one!
Pours an unclear yellowblonde, slightly orange. No stable head at all. Scent is earthy (slightly) some .. orange peel like zesty fruityness. somehow also reminds me of peach or apricot. Taste is full, very tart and dry, very orange-forward fruityness, I get less (but still some) of that apricot like feel, and a hint of the fruityness. On it's own surely not as much my preference as the speciaal-blend. Its not at all bad though, fruityness is 'ok' for me flavor wise (not the biggest fruit fan in general, so thats not a bad thing for me) . lambic is significantly more acidic than the average, and very dry. Perhaps a touch more smoothness would have made me prefer it more. Medium high carbo, that enhances the dryness. Fruit intensity is right where you'd want it to be.

Bottle pour at Zwanze Day 2026, at The Sovereign in Washington DC. Poured a mostly clear golden yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was tart apricots. Flavor was pleasant fruity apricots, light sour notes, but not overly tart, other than that fresh fruit tartness. Really nice stuff actually.

Bottle Pour, provided by friend, Huhzubendah. Thanks Matthew! Poured a bright orange color, not much of a head, there, but wispy. Aroma was light sweet sugars, very subtle at this point with it being 28 years old. Actually really holds up quite well given it's age. Some very light funk, some very light cardboard is seeping in, but given it's age the oxidation is fine and expected. Very nice!

Cask Huge flamingo head, unbelievably stable over clear carmosine beer. Strangely enough the first and dominant aroma strikes me as elderberry, intense. There are obviously other (red) fruit, but this one remains in the nose throughout. Tart, here sour cherries are obvious, if also redcurrant and unripe raspberry. It gives a stickiness as from fruitjuice, not cloying, light acidthinning. Niiiice! Txs to Karel!

Thanks Yushi for sharing! Taster showing pale gold with sparse white foam.
The nose shows moderately intense notes of kiwi and brett.
The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately tart with kiwi and quince forward notes and mild brett throughout.

From the bottle at a tasting at Beer Out, Forlì, Italy. Pours a golden ramen, medium transparent, with no foam. Aroma is resinous, winey, just a little funky. Body is average, with no carbonation. Nice astringency. Taste is medium-high sour. Final is rather long.

Bottle from own cellar, shared with Remko B. Didn't take any notes but just like the 2018 edition this Gooikoorts has great complexity. Still (one of) the best 'ordinary' Geuzes I've had so far. Wonderful!
