500ml swing-top bottle. Light brown hue resting on a deep mahogany coloured body. Dark malty nose and taste leading to notes of brittle caramel and woody dryness. Creamy palate and rather lively carbonated (New Year party in Tromsø, 12.01.2008)

As “Das Echte” - 500ml swing-top bottle picked up at Franz-Josef Strauss airport, München last June. Pours a crystal clear, light golden body under a fading white head. Smell of mild malt and grass. Rounded taste of grassy hops with additional hints of lightly roasted grain. Quite well bodied (sampled at a party in Tromsø, 12.01.2008)

Rich roasted malt aroma with light notes of dark fruit. Dark amber, near brown, color with essentially no head. Near medium in body with mild smooth carbonation. The flavor is slightly roasted caramel with some dark sugary fruit. The finish is mildly sweet with an underlying bitter from the roasted malt. NIce.

500 ml swing top opened with a pop and an aroma of banana and clove. In the glass a little wheat comes forth. Hazy pale gold color with a vigorous white head that went down quickly. Approaching medium in body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is wheat, banana, clove, and something else. The finish is quite dry, with some lemon sour, and a change in the wheat or a bit of veg. Not the lush type, but very drinkable. Almost astringent. Stands out from the herd.

Bottle as Bavarian Lager. Light biscuit aroma with some lemon/citrus. Pale golden color with a very temporary white head. Medium body with very light, very smooth carbonation. Flavor is very light malt accompanied by lemon/citrus. Finishes relatively dry, and the citrus stays, and a hint of concord grape shows up - but just the lightest hint. A very drinkable brew.

Getreidig-süßer Antrunk, etwas klebrig. Auch im Mittelteil ist die süße Getreidigkeit führend, darüber hat sich eine zu vernachlässigende Hopfennote gelegt, die nun aufkommende herbe Note wird zum Abgang hin etwas stärker. Kräftig herb-getreidiger, in teilen bitterer Abgang. Dieser wird schnell wässrig und ist daher enorm schnell versiegt. Test vom 18.11.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,9,10,6,11,9 - 8,90

Straw aroma, not very strong. Cloudy golden, thick white head, minimal lacing. Pronounced taste of vegetables with a stronger lemon presence. Tanginess tends toward vinegar, without crossing the line. Grainy finish. Decent hops are present in the background throughout In a blind taste test I would swear this was American, and that’s not a compliment.

Bottle, 50cl swing-top. A hazy, orange-yellow beer with a bit small, white head. Quite citrusy nose with cloves and wheat in the background, but it is a bit weak. In the mouth it feels a bit thin and watery, with banana- and citrus flavors dominating, and some spices as well. Citrus, some banana and cloves in the finish. A bit boring weizen, but somewhat refreshing. (070818)
