Paid $2.79 for a pintish bottle. Poured without a head (even with a hard pour), and reminds me of iced tea-- not what I usally look for in a beer, but this looks good to me right now. Deep clean brown. Sweet caramel/alcohol scent. Not strong. Pretty sweet, with a coffee bitter aftertaste. Not great, but not bad. Thin in the mouth, due to lack of carbonation.

Light amber color. Quite evident honey character. Simple, sweet Dunkel; easy to drink and nothing else.

Amber color; thick head. Malty aroma. Well malty, but somehow dry mouthfeel, with just some caramel; nuts. Not enough bitter at the end.

Dark brown in colour with great ruby highlights and a thin tan head. Very malty aroma with slight hints of grapes and a very strong metallic twang. Medium to Full-bodied; Aggressive sweetness also showcasing the malt and a subtle spiceyness. Overall, a nice doppelbock, good for the style! As the beer warms, the alcohol becomes more and more noticeable. I got this sixteen ounce swing-top bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 10-October-2003.

Somewhat anonymous malt aroma. Dark brown wit a lowish head. Fullbodied strong and malty, even some chokolaty notes, but lacks in the aftertaste.

Standard Helles, balance tilts to the malty side, taste is bland and uninspiring.

Re-rate: Surprising grassy aromas not expected from this dark beer. Golden brown, initially good head dissipates too quickly. Good balance. Fullbodied. Good winterbeer

Nut brown. Sweet with above average body, toffee aroma, chewy malt. A good doppelbock, but less malty and complex than the prime examples of the style.
