21st June 2023, new region and rare beer tasting with minutemat (and a sample for Grumbo) at my place. Thanks cyclist Shirley for the 330ml bottle of this: BB15th December 2023. Light amber body, mostly clear, white head. Nice sweet brew with an orange like hint in both the aroma and taste, good start to our four Japanese beers.

A strong, well-balanced pale ale. Aromas of honey, mandarin, biscuit and boiled lollies. It has a restrained but excellent hop flavour with great length. Can from Hiroshima Station 7-11.

You get a big whack of banana on the nose plus some light grapefruit and peach. The taste has a bit of an aspirin-y aftertaste which takes away from what is otherwise a very nice beer.

Bottled. Medium brown color. Toasty caramel in the nose, piny and herbal hops. Flavor is toasty and slightly roasted, piny and herbal with light citrus, cherry, caramel. Decent.

Can. Seems still to be made at Niigata Beer. Nose is caramel. Not particularly rich or nice, but nothing completely off either. Maybe a bit metallic. Pours a muddy, ugly brown. Not close to Blonde, and crappy looking. Flavor is not pleasant. Sweet caramel, metal, plastics. Not gross, but close to it. Probably will be gross once it warms. Body is also soft and flabby. Seems Niigata is making whisky now too. They never learned to make beer.

Dirty coppery blond. Bready and yeasty with a touch of butterscotch. Caramel and bready notes with a light apple in the finish.

Cloudy gold with a small white head. Dirty grains. Honey sweetness and a light bitterness. Not great.

Cloudy amber with a decent beige head. Earthy and dirty hops. Dirty and earthy with a bitterness. Not great.

Cloudy copper gold with a decent white head. Intense lemon and peel. Bitter lemon peel with a long finish.
