Established in 1996
In the early 1990s, Roger and Linda decided to market their own beer: a custom-made high fermentation blonde. The Bon Secours was born! These were promising beginnings but they still dreamt of creating their own brewery. A dream which became reality when they bought the machinery from the Deneve brewery in Schepdaal and inaugurated the first brew in 1996!
In 2007, the NV Brasserie Caulier was declared bankrupt. At the beginning of 2008, the activities were transferred to a private limited company of the sons of Roger Caulier, who subsequently adopted the name Brasserie et Distillerie Caulier. As of 2012, Laurent, Bertrand and Vincent joined their parents in the adventure. In order to respond to the growing demand for its products, in 2018 the Brewery began a large multi-annual programme of investments with the goal of tripling its production capacity. The historical Brewing House has been extended, new fermentation and storage tanks have been added, and the bottling line has been modernised.

Bière pression bue à place des Oliviers à Bondues. Robe ambrée/orangée légèrement trouble, mousse blanche peu persistante. Bulles fines et peu visibles. Nez caramel, céréales, cassonade. Bouche peu complexe, bonne carbonatation, texture ronde, un peu trop sucrée, alcool présent, amertume trop légère. Une bière assez banale et déséquilibrée. (M)
Mai 2020, sweet malts, herbal bitterness, yeast, barley, firm but decent triple.
Bottle from FinestBelgianBeers. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a medium sized fluffy white head. A little sediment in the glass. Nice lacing. Faint aromas of apples, pears, peaches, bananas and herbal notes. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma, no stand out flavours, with some added peppery spice notes. Full bodied, fair amount of carbonation on the palate and a long fruity and spicy finish. This is one of the better tripels i have tried. Very good.

1 February 2020. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, Kevin, Niels & Cynthia! Hazy orange, lasting, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of unripe apricot, pear, banana peel, biscuit, honey, herbs (but not quite spicy as one would expect). Taste has sweetish estery pear, banana & apricot, sourish citrus accent, a bit lemony, with a herbal bitter note. Tart, fruity finish, yeasty, bit funky (infected?). Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Not really getting the speculoos here and overall rather bland.

Flip-top 33cl bottle; BB 26th Aug 2021. Poured into a thistle shaped glass at home on 17th Feb 2020. No sediment left the bottle, so I got a clear and clean amber beer, thin white head on top. On adding the grist, the head grew and the sediment added more aroma and taste (as well as a few floating particles within the glass. Yeasty and malty notes rule both the nose and taste, some fruity flavours also. Nicely hidden alcohol content (my bottle was 9% ABV), only showed up towards the end of the drink. Liked it!

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Murky amber/brown body with a beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of big, red apple and and brown sugar. Flavour of cinnamon and prune. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Lively fizz. Sweet but with a sharp edge that takes over.
