Description
Big Drop Brewing Co. is a new craft beer company dedicated to making great beer with an ABV of no more than 0.5%.

Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. Along with renowned experimental brewer, Johnny Clayton (formerly of Wild Beer Co), they’ve perfected techniques to make alcohol-free craft beer without the need for artificial removal of alcohol.

The 2018 contract with a leading supermarket chain will require Big Drop, which moved production from a small-batch brewer in Bermondsey to Sussex-based own-label specialist Hepworth, to scale up production from 10,000 litres per month to some 40,000 litres.

Production moved to Black Sheep Brewery after a deal was agreed with Keystone Brewing Group, announced December 2024.

33cl can. Poured almost clear and golden with a fizzy head. Nice hoppy flavors, some wort notes. Refreshing, could well drink again.

330ml can. Poured almost black with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, light ashtray. The flavour is moderate to light liqourice bitter, with a smooth, light, watery, roasted malt, liqourice, dry ashtray palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. Not a beer you would normally choose to drink, but for the ABV, it’s not bad.

Keg at Heidrun HW, 29/04/22. Clear golden with a decent white cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is tangerine, grass, melon, pale malts. Taste comprises orange peel, grains, melon, straw, pale malts. Light body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a dusty hop spattering. Not bad at all for an AF.

Creamy roasted beginning. Easy to drink, lots of roast and caramel. Great smooth mild body, tons of roast with vanilla and toasted grain. Fantastic balanced, creamy and full-bodied. Fantastic alcohol-free brew!

330ml can - Pours black with a small thin tan head that settled. Aroma is coffee and dark roasted malts. A moderately sweet taste, black coffee, roasted grain and light chocolate flavours. Not not much bitterness and a bit watery but okay.
