Description
Land & Labour is a side project from Galway Bay Brewery head brewer, Tom Delaney, focused in sour and wild beers. Their aim is to create mixed fermentation beers with Bretts and wild yeasts, without reaching a high acidity. They have created a separated environment for this side project, and imported aged foeders from Italy, France or Switzerland. It was started in 2018, and their first available references where presented in 2020.

Head gone after ample seconds. Looks as white wine for all the world. End of bottle solid deposit. Wormwood, pepper, apples, fennel, sage. Medium acidity, cider, sage, rosemary, again some wormwood. Bone-dry. Feels much better carbonated than it looks. Dry-out effect and some acidthinning. This is out of this world. Utterly original and tantalising. L&L keeps producing gems.

750ml bottle. Cloudy, purple colour with small, frothy fading, minimally pink-ish, white head. Sweet-ish, fruity and slightly lactic aroma, notes of sweet cherry, raspberry, a touch of sauerkraut. Taste is sour, lactic, fruity, notes of sauerkraut, minimally diluted hints of raspberry and cherry.
Minimally oily, watery texture, astringent, simultaneously minimally greasy palate, medium, dense, prickly carbonation.
Wonderful nose, a bit rough concerning taste - OK.

From tap at Café Pardaf, Antwerpen. Nicely dry just as I like my Saison. Wheaty pale malt, some funk. Tart and sour, fruity notes including some citrus, stone fruit. Medium body, dry finish. Lovely.

20 cl Teku tulip draft at Beer Lovers Bar in Antwerp, Belgium. The pour is a slight hazed orange golden with a foamy white head that falls slow with nice lace. The aroma is earth, dirt, funk and a mild lactic sour. The taste is big sour up front, moving to citrus, wheat grain and then some nice mineral. Much smoother than the nose suggested. The palate is sparkling carbonation, medium to light bodied with a funk and lactic finish. Fun one, glad I was able to try it.

Pours clear blonde. Small white head. Scent is dusty oak, lactic acid-like clean acidity. Mildly malty. Taste is crispy acidic, dry, mild lemon, wheat, lactic acid. Fairly sharp, drying. Oak. Medium-low intense carbonation. Medium body. Very decent, a bit symplistic in it's acidity, but i've had far, far worse. Enjoyable.
