Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a murky brown with a tan head. Aroma is woodsy, boozy, sugary, malty. Taste is boozy, caramel, toffee, malty, sugary, dark fruits.

Bottle from the Kalea Adventskalender. Almost black with a fleeting, frothy, beige head. Aroma of coffee, milk chocolate and caramel. Nice and the best part of this beer, for sadly it’s all downhill from there. Taste is mildly bittersweet with a dose of vinegary tartness. Finishes tart but otherwise empty. Body is to the light side of medium, texture quite watery, carbonation moderate. Not particularly „dry“ but this is one of those styles I‘ve never really been able to put a finger on. Not worth the bother.

2/1/2021. Bottle courtesy of Idiosynkrasie, cheers Boris! Pours clear bright amber bronze with a small frothy/creamy off-white head. Aroma of toffee, malt, biscuit, brown sugar, dried fruit and waffles. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Warming, sweet, boozy finish.

Bottle. Pours clear golden witg airy white head. Sour aroma of infected beer, with some estery hints. Bitter, hoppy flavour with malty and papery touches and sour notes signalling infection. Estery and sour aftertaste with papery notes. Would be reasonable without the sour notes. Needs re-rating.

Kalea Bier-Adventkalender 16.12.2020 Meinen Vorbewerter mit seiner Bemerkung, dass das BIer recht sauer ist, kann ich bestätigen, aber ich finde die Säure recht gut eingebunden. Sie unterstreicht eher das sehr trockene Dry Stout, wobei es schnell zu viel wird. Etwas mehr Ausgewogenheit wäre nett.
