Description
Founded in 1924 by Pierre Saugrain, he produced the Vallée de la Seiche cider until his death in 1953. He was followed up by Maurice Lemoine. Lemoine introduced new products ('cidre brut' & 'cidre demi-sec') and started commercialising by introducing bottled ciders (75cl, 37,5cl and 25cl). In 1991 Michel Maman took over the company when Lemoine retreated. In 2001 the Maman company further expanded the portfolio with 'cidre fermier' using the fruit from an orchard in Côtes d’Armor à Kerpellen near the settlement Trévérec.
Today La Vallée de la Seiche is an innovative fruit product company with a wide range of innovative products, such as Cidre Rose - cider aromatised with roses, Ratapoire - a pear equivalent to Pommeau de Bretagne, etc.

Wild festival. Clear golden, flat, no head. Sweet and cold cool apples, safran, musty, mushy, bit moldy-esque. Moderate sweet and bitter, some vague sourness leaning in. Medium body and soft carbonation. Funny experiment.

750ml wired cork bottle, as Cidre Bouche Artisanal, from Ciderwinkel. Opened with a pop. Sparkling golden colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and aroma of tangy apple, leathery funk. Taste is sweetish, fruity apple, juicy, funky, orchardy, oil, leather, hints of caramel and tannin, with some tartness. Light to medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tart & tannic finish. Quite drinkable.

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Oro limpido, brillante, schiuma esile, evanescente. Al naso note di mela, frutta sotto spirito, solvente. In bocca è dolce con residuo zuccherino e finale acido fruttato. Corpo medio, superiore alle attese, carbonazione soft. Non male, ma andrebbe rifinito.

Bottle pour at Molen De Ster. Clear golden with no head. Sweet apples, juicy red apple peels, chrunchy dry fermented. Massive farmhouse vibes, smells like cows in the barn. Brittany treebark funk character. Sweet, farmhouse and parmesan funky and apply and juicy up front, woody and very dry in the finish. Makes we want to travel south. --- Beer merged from original tick of Xbrut on 04 Jul 2019 at 00:46 - Score: 8

Bottle shared at the beach. Hazy golden with some white bubbles on top. Dry apple peels, yellow and gone brown peels. Hard meally unripe apple flesh, parmesan cheesy funk, tannins, light oxidisation and in some sips there’s a bit of rubberband in the finish. Luckily not continuously. Still quite juicy and saucy for something labeled Extra Brut but the finish does live up to that label. So it’s sweet and juicy up front, rusty, meally, saucey and then tart and dry and wry. Medium body and soft carbonation. In a blind test I would have said this is demi-sec. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cidrerie Maman Cidre Artisanal Biologique Extra Brut on 16 Jun 2019 at 17:51 - Score: 7
