16oz (thx, Nick S.!) shared with Alex @ home. Vintage 2019. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: oak, a bit fruity, some roasted malt notes, a bit of chocolate. Taste: moderately sweet, a bit boozy, fruity, lots of barrel character. Overall: quite good, but I don't feel like it's a really nice one, lacks balance and integration IMHO.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 08/01/19). Very dark brown with minimal beige head. More bourbon on the aroma, more apple brandy on the taste, some mild dark fruits in the background. Decent.

16oz (thx, Nick S.!) shared with Alex @ 🏡 Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: mix of barrels with bourbon and rye quite distinguishable. Taste: along the same lines, lots of barrels including the sherry one with its oxidation. Overall: quite complex and interesting.

Bottle, mooch tasting, courtesy of Sergey and the gang; vintage 2022, 1 year old
Dark amber colour, haze. Aroma of hazelnuts, almonds, vanilla. Full bodied, sweet, with good malt depth, caramel sauce, vanilla (from the barrels), concealing the alcohol. Very good.

Pint can pours with a dirty dark opaque gold colored body that supports a lasting dirty off white head of foam. The aroma offers up warm pineapple, over ripe white grape, cantaloupe and then some notes of mango and ripe tangelo into the end of the draw. The taste delivers bold sweet pineapple blended with sweet over ripe white grapes, cantaloupe and guava. To midway tangy tangelo and mango try to develop some balance against the onslaught of sweetness but the come up short. Into the finish the massive ABV tries to intercede the sweetness too in a lingering second round battle royal. Overall this is too God damn sweet to be a great beer but this works decently for such a big hazy IIIIPA.

500ml shared with Josh (thx for the bottle, man!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: pours like oil, pale copper with a tan head. Aroma: a bit oxidized, lots of butterscotch, some American oak and hops. Taste: along the same lines, sticky, finishes with some hoppy bitterness. Overall: good.

Amber colour, definitely hazy, not much head. The aroma has a touch of bourbon, but a lot of sticky raisin and date accents, some alcohol showing in there a bit as well. The carbonation is fine, but it seems to be a bit odd for the style, bringing out fruitiness, maybe some apples. The malts are sticky and bitterness is low. The bourbon helps round out those malts, but there's sort of a depth piece missing. Good, but could be better.

Pint can pours with a deep dark brown colored body that has deep red mahogany edges and supports a lasting tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up dark fruity esters, molasses drizzled wood, a bit of smokiness and then a little more dark fruitiness and a sense of booze into the end of the draw. The taste delivers a smooth supple rich mouth feel ushering notes of plums and dates leading to molasses and growing smooth boozy bourbon notes. To midway the molasses brings up a thin spiciness and oak heading into a modestly boozy finish. This is smooth and soft and well integrated. Love it. Great sipper.
