About
At Moon Dog we love crafting bloody delicious beers that are fun and a little bit different. We've been doing it since 2010 at our rad brewery in the backstreets of inner Melbourne’s Abbotsford. Over the years we’ve grown a heap, adding our tropical brewery bar paradise, the ballroom oasis function space, and a freakin' big fancy production brewery to keep more delicious beers flowing. We’re a proudly independent, Australian owned craft brewery, still run by the same guys that started it all those years ago.

Can. Almost black with a tan head that fizzes away in a minute or so. Aroma is not mucking about with deeply toasted coconut and dark sugars. Some spiced bread. Very sweet and a bit syrupy. The toasted and dark aroma turns out to be burnt taste. A bit plasticy too. Ugh.

440ml can from the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown, almost black colour with a frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light raspberries and saccharine. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, roasty, light raspberry, sugary mess of a palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nice can but the beer is as fake as you can get. Why do I need to keep paying outrageous prices for beers like this when I can buy a cheap stout and add some fruit juice and sugar at home?

330ml can from the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky light brown colour with little life. The aroma is biscuit dough and apples. It kinda dominates. The flavour is moderate sweet and sour, with a tart apple, sweet sugary pastry, palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. Looks poor and doesn’t taste any better.

From a 440ml can on 21/12/2020. Pours a deep brown with a smallish head. Has quite a strong and pleasant choc-coconut aroma. Tastes of chocolate, caramel, vanilla and lots of coconut, with a sharpish, slightly roasty bitterness finishing things off. Sweet but not overly so, and relatively easy drinking for such a big beer, with just a hint of warming alcohol presnting. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Distinctive, well made and enjoyable.

(Can) Pours hazy golden with absurdly large loose white head. Pleasant aroma - yeasty, zesty, hints of pepper. Medium body with good carbonation. Tart, fruity, hints of pepper. Very nice, but I don’t get the pav (which to me is sweet and creamy).
