On tap somewhere at Bristol airport. Darker golden coloured, small to medium sized creamy off-white head, mild grainy nose. Sweetish malty, grainy, light caramel and herbal hoppy with rather dry and subdued fruits in the finish. Not the best around but drinkable.

Keg tap at Wygston’s House, Leicester. Reddish brown, very translucent with a smattering of off-white head and a lot of lacing. Raw grain and redcurrant aroma. Slight metallic note. Tastes quite nicely sweet, with some spicy notes from the rye. Short to medium bittersweet finish. High carbonation doesn’t hide the watery body. It’s fairly average.

33cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell. A bright amber pour with a loose white head; interesting aroma with a blend of grapefruit, pine and malt; caramel body, with a fresh woody bitterness and some citrus fruit. A clean crisp IPA, better than expected.

33cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell. A straw coloured pour with a fast fading white head; oddly malty aroma for a pilsner with a touch of citrus; malty taste; and some grassy bitterness to finish. Not bad.

Bottle as Edinburgh Castle. A mid amber coloured pour with a lasting greyish white head. Aroma is toffee, twiggy malts, mild jam fruits, toasted malts. Flavour is composed of nutty twiggy malts, medium toffee, thin, chalky finish. Palate is thin, sugar water, chalky, highish carbonation. Meh.
