Description
Our brewery started life up in Morpeth, Northumberland, back in 2012. One name change later, we settled on being called Anarchy Brew Co. and started brewing our core beers, packed with flavour that we still make today (Blonde Star and Citra Star). After running out of room at the old site, we decided we needed somewhere bigger. And in October we moved to new digs in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you’ll find us today. The new Anarchy brewery opened its doors in October 2018 in Walkergate, with the added bonus of our new taproom.

Tap from the Head of Steam, Birmingham. Poured a murky medium amber colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, floral hops and tutti frutti sugary citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a crisp, juicy citrus, floral, perfume, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Backlog June 2017. Slightly unclear golden body under a big, dense off-white head. Nice aroma, tropical fruit, gooseberry, cat pee – basically Nelson hops I believe. Taste is more straight forward but refreshing and easy drinkable. Mild pale malt, tropical fruit, gooseberry, some grapefruit and decent bitterness. Medium body and same aftertaste.

-- Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Clear pale amber, minimal head. Perfumy nose with grapefruit, passionfruit and caramel. Mid sweet with solid body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and piney grapefruit. Resinous extremely bitter finish. In a world where most IPAs are less bitter than my breakfast juice, this one goes against the stream. Thank you Anarchy, but half the bitterness would be enough.
